Art exhibits in the Bedford Free Public Library run for approximately two months,
beginning mid month in January, March, May, July, September, and November. They are
scheduled twelve to eighteen months in advance.

Submission is by photographs, images on CD or website. Deliver artwork to the library
during the first week of January, March, May, September, or November. All work submitted
must be original and not previously shown at the Bedford Free Public Library.

Work received at other times will be held for review at the next committee meeting.
Notification is by email within thirty days of committee review. For return of materials,
please provide a self addressed, stamped envelope.

All accepted two dimensional pieces must be wired and ready to hang. A BFPL Art Steering
Committee member will assist with hanging and take down of all shows.

Labels and a guest book will be created by a curator (committee member) for all group
shows. The curator will be the artist’s liaison for the show and will be available to answer
questions and provide guidance.

Group shows: Your artist statement will be included in a guest book for the exhibition. You
may include a price list in the book, but no prices may be posted on the walls. Wall labels
will be provided for your work.

Solo show: Wall labels, artist statement and price list will be provided by the artist. The
committee will provide special adhesive tape for attaching labels to the walls. You may
include a price list in the book, but no prices may be posted on the walls.

The Bedford Free Public Library staff members do not participate in the sale of artists’ work.
Potential customers may contact you through your information in the guest book.
Bedford Free Public Library Gallery Application to Exhibit

Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the Bedford Free Public Library. Please take a self-guided
tour of the Library prior to applying so that you are familiar with size limitations. Art work may be
displayed on the first floor along the outside wall, in the center ramp (balcony) area of the library,
and along a corridor on the second floor. We review applications for individual and group shows in
January, March, May, September, and November. Take advantage also of the open calls for artists to
submit your work. Check the website, www.bedfordlibrarygallery.org for more information.
