mobile phones from your PC using Microsoft Excel®. This Plugin offers unmatched
convenience by allowing its users to send personal customized messages to the
recipients.
For example if a Bank wants to remind its customers about payment of interest on a
loan, it can send peronalized SMS by mentioning the name of each recipient with his/her
amount due and payment due date. For example the message will be like - "Dear
Sameer, you have to pay an interest of Rs 1066 and the due date is 10th August, 2009."

What is the cost of sending an SMS using Smart SMS?
A: The cost-per-SMS depends on the plan you purchase. We bring you SMS rates starting
as cheap as 60 paise per SMS going down to 18 paise on higher plans.

Can I send SMS messages abroad?
A: We will soon be extending the service to over 100 countries. During the initial stages,
one will be able to send SMS messages only to users within India.

I sent an SMS to a friend using Smart SMS. Can he reply back to me?
A: We are soon going to provide an ‘Inbox’ facility where recipients can reply back. For
now, your friend can reply back to you on your Mobile Phone.

I have purchased Excel-to-SMS, but when I try to send an SMS using MS Excel, it says
I have not purchased any SMS Plan. Why is it so?
A: Purchase of the Excel-to-SMS plug-in only enables you to use the feature. But to send
an SMS, you need credits in your account. You can purchase credits by clicking on ‘Buy
SMS Plan’ or ‘Update SMS Plan’ on the Smart SMS Homepage.

What is a SenderID?
A: This is the name or number which flashes on the recipient's mobile phone when they
receive an SMS Text message. Most GSM Networks/Operators accept up to an 8-
character Alpha-Numeric String as Sender Identification.

I am an individual. Can I purchase & use my own SenderID?
A: No. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) does not allow individuals
to send SMS using SenderID. This option can be availed only by a user who uses the
service on behalf of his company.
