Sony, Intel and Google are teaming up to build Google TV, a web-based, or more specifically, an
Android -based set-top box that could replace television broadcasting as we know it.
Google TV will come in the form of both a set-top box and an actual TV-sets. Traditional television
will be available, but in addition sites like Hulu, YouTube and other web-video sources, as well as
games and apps for social networking, will be available for viewing on the family boob-tube. Google's
Android OS will make it all happen, complete with Chrome browser built-in.

Speculation of an Intel Atom chip will drive these devices, and Sony is vie-ing for a toe-hold in this
new medium, one with a very unpredictable but promising future . We may see Google TV sooner than
later. Developer tools are expected in the next two months, and Logitech has reportedly been
approached to make peripherals such as speakers and a QWERTY-equipped remote. Can you say "bye-
bye" PC?
