Youth Justice System
Brittany Chaffin Chapter Task 2 Grade 9
The Question
• Should the justice system be harder on youths who commit crimes? This is the question I have answered before research, during research, and after research. The way I have answered this question these three times is my opinion, not anyone else's.
What I Thought Before Research
• Before I started research I believed that the youth justice system should be harder on youth who have committed a crime in the past. But the first time offenders should get a warning because they may have done it but then felt bad about it so then the saw what it was like so the will not do it again.
What I Learned During Research
• I learn about how the system and how it works today and how it works in the past. • I learned that before 1908 children were treated a lot like adults. So there was a lot less youth crime.

What I Think After Research
• After research I think that they should be harder on youth who commit crimes all the way around. I think this because they commit a crime so if they don’t get a consequences then there is a higher chance that they will commit o crime again because they don’t know what the consequences are.
