About Miguel Membrado Miguel Membrado holds a PhD in computer sciences and is a serial entrepreneur, working in the internet field since 1995 and in the information technologies since 1987. Specialized on information retrieval systems, online collaboration and new company organizations, M. Membrado have been involved in the internet revolution, not only about its technical aspects, but also about its cultural, social and organisational aspects. M. Membrado created several startups since 1989: ErgoSum, with the Doxis products suite, provided in 1991 the first information retrieval system to work on MS-DOS and MS-Windows systems. Additional products covered document imaging aread and distributed archival systems. The company, backed by french venture capital firms Sofinnova and Innovacom in 1991, became one of the french leaders software companies, competing against FileNet, Basis and Verity USA specialists. Miguel Membrado was the CTO and managed a team of 22 engineers. Mayetic, created in 1996, gained the second position worldwide on the Internet about online collaboration, with more than 250.000 users from 14.000 organizations and 100+ countries. Mayetic products were also sold to 50 huge companies in France as intranet and/or extranet collaboration systems. Backed by venture capital firm CDC-Kineon in 2002, Mayetic was competing in the french market against Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, IBM Workplace and Documentum eRoom software. Miguel Membrado was the COO and the CTO of the company, managing a team of 15 engineers in France and 11 in Pune (India). Netcipia, created in 2006 and based in Palo Alto, is to offer a web 2.0 content monetization platform for professional and individuals, offering a participative suite available on the Internet, with blogs, wikis and a social network in one single package. Miguel Membrado is the CTO of the company and manage a distributed team of 10 engineers in Paris (France), Palo Alto (USA), Port-au-Prince (Haïti) and Shanghaï (China). Expert on the European e3Work project (5 Eastern European countries + France) related to the homeshoring organization promotion to sustain women employability in east European countries. Expert with the Mexican government for the establishment of specifications and choice of providers for the realization of Mexico’s Videoteca Nacional Numerica (National Digital Video Library).
