The NHS ISB is supported by the Management Information Standards Board, Clinical Data Standards and Technical Standards sub-boards. *The DSCN Number Format has been changed to denote the new arrangements as follows: sequence number/year of issue (ccyy). The service identifier and service sequence number are redundant owing to changes in practice and have been removed. The packaging of standards documentation is under review. The changes required: The Augmented Care Locations to be grouped and subtotalled by the headings General Beds and Specialist Beds. Grouping of General Beds and Specialist Beds is identified by AUGMENTED CARE LOCATION. The number of General intensive care beds and Specialist high dependency beds to be separately reported for those units which provide combined intensive care and high dependency care. Indication of whether or not a unit identified as providing Specialist Beds is a combined Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit. The reporting of the number of General Beds and Specialist Beds being used for high dependency care which are not physically located within a designated Intensive Care or High Dependency Unit. In order to support these changes a new attribute IC OR HD BEDS INDICATOR has been introduced as an optional attribute of WARD BED AVAILABILITY to enable the number of intensive care beds and high dependency beds to be separately reported, and the description of WARD BED AVAILABILITY has been changed to clarify the usage of the new attribute. A new attribute IC/HD UNIT INDICATOR has also been introduced as an optional attribute of WARD to identify whether a WARD is an Intensive Care Unit and/or a High Dependency Unit. WARD BED AVAILABILITY The total number of beds resourced and available for use on a WARD for a single CLINICAL CARE INTENSITY or AUGMENTED CARE LOCATION. Availability of beds for a single AUGMENTED CARE LOCATION will be separately recorded for intensive care and for high dependency. Attributes STAFFED BEDS MODERNISATION FUND and STAFFED BEDS NONMODERNISATION FUND only apply where the CLINICAL CARE INTENSITY is for BROAD PATIENT GROUP of patients with mental illness. Note: On the 31st March, the total numbers of cots resourced for the provision of intensive care to a neonate are to be recorded for KH03 purposes. This is regardless of actual utilisation.
