                        SPECIFICATIONS

        NEW ALL-ALUMINUM COMMUNICATION SUPPORT VEHICLE

MUD FLAPS - REAR:

There shall be black rubber mud flaps installed for the rear wheels.

CAB TO BODY WALK-THRU:

The cab of the vehicle shall be connected with the rescue body through a flexible bellows type
connection at the front of the body and the rear of the cab. This shall be a continuous water
and weather tight seal of neoprene or a similar material and shall be made replaceable.

The base of the opening shall be covered with 3/16" aluminum diamond plate to fully cover and
protect the seal from damage.

BODY MATERIALS:

The following shall be the minimum acceptable gauges and thickness and finish used
wherever these materials are used and specified:

ALUMINUM SHEETING - All exterior panels shall be 5052-H32 aluminum of .125" thickness to
provide maximum safety.

ALUMINUM DIAMOND PLATE - All aluminum diamond plate shall be a minimum of .125" thick
and 3003-H14.

BODY MOUNTING BOLTS - All body mounting bolts shall be hardened steel U bolts.

EXTERIOR NUTS, BOLTS, SCREWS - All exterior nuts, bolts, and screws shall be stainless
steel.

BODY DESIGN:

The body shall be modular in design, allowing it to be removed and remounted on a new
chassis.

BODY MOUNTING:

The body shall be mounted to the chassis frame with not less than eight (8) "U" bolt type
brackets, four (4) on each side.

Neoprene pads shall be furnished and installed between the body and the "U" bolt mounts to
prevent electrolysis and to minimize noise transfer.

The U-bolts shall secure 1" x 3" solid aluminum bar to the frame to which the subframe is
welded.
BODY CONSTRUCTION:

The primary body material shall be .125" aluminum for the sides, front, rear and top of the
body.

The body framing shall be square tubing not less than 2" x 2" x (.125") on a maximum of 16"
centers.

The framing shall be fully welded grid design, completely supporting the floor, sides, and the
roof for maximum strength and durability.

The body skin shall be fully welded and bonded to the interior framing.

BODY CORNERS - EXTRUDED:

The body corners shall be extruded aluminum with a minimum of a 2" radius. This extrusion
shall also be used for the perimeter of the roof.

BODY ROOF:

The roof support framing shall be constructed of 2" x 2" x .125" 6063-T52 extruded aluminum
tubing.

The body roof shall be a minimum of .125" aluminum diamond plate and all roof seams shall
be fully welded.

The roof shall be designed in grid pattern to allow the roof to support 5000 lbs. and to be used
as a command post.

FRONT BODY SHEET:

The entire front of the apparatus body shall be constructed of .125" smooth aluminum sheeting
and shall be painted.

STONE GUARDS:

The front body corners shall have a .125" aluminum diamond plate stone guard added to the
lower corners. The stone guards shall be a minimum of 12" high and shall be bolted to the
body.
REAR BODY SHEET:

The rear body sheet shall be fabricated of .125" aluminum sheeting.

The area under the rear door and above the rear step shall be covered with .125" aluminum
diamond plate. This will not be an overlay but sheeted as part of the body skin. This will serve
as a kick plate to protect the painted surfaces.

INSULATION:

The body roof, walls, and floor shall be insulated with a minimum of 2" polystyrene foam
insulation.

WHEEL WELL LINERS:

The inside of the rear wheel wells shall be covered with an aluminum inner liner.

WHEEL WELL PANELS PAINTED:

The wheel well body panels shall be painted with no trim overlaid on the body panel.

FENDERETTES :

The wheel well openings shall be trimmed with polished stainless steel fenderettes bolted in
place.

RUB RAILS:

The lower rub rail shall be composed of 6063-T52 alloy-extruded aluminum. It shall receive
the body side sheet by means of a groove, which runs continually fore to aft of the module.
The body sides (sheets and box beams) shall be welded to the lower rub rail. The rub rail shall
stem inboard approximately 2 11/16" at which point there shall be a flange, which shall receive
the air core door gasket. The exposed surface of the rub rail shall be chamfered and indented
for aesthetic appearance and shall have a satin anodized finish.

Atop this inherent rubrail shall be a polished aluminum rubrail with recessed Scotchlite stripe
and shall be installed below compartment floor level on each side of the unit and shall extend
past the body sides by at least 1 1/4". The function of this rub rail is to protect the body sides
from potential collision.
DRIP RAILS:

There shall be polished aluminum rain gutters installed over all side and rear compartments
and any entry doors.

The rain gutters shall be fastened to the body and removable in case of damage.

Rain gutters that are an integral part of the roof radius will not be acceptable due to the
difficulty in replacing due to damage.

FLOOR CONSTRUCTION:

Mounted on the chassis frame shall be 1" x 3" aluminum flatbar. Transversing the flat bar and
forming the actual subframe shall be 2" square x .250" aluminum tubes running continuously
from one bodyside to the other.

The subfloor bellypan shall be fabricated from .125" aluminum sheeting, which will be welded
to the subframe .

Between the subfloor bellypan and top floor there shall be a full 2 inches of polystyrene
insulation.

The top of the floor shall be covered with .125" aluminum diamondplate. The aluminum
diamondplate shall extend up the side wall 6" to form a splash plate and to allow the floor to be
washed without water entering the subfloor. All seams in the diamondplate shall be fully
sealed.

The aluminum diamond plate shall be bolted in place using countersunk screws.

STREETSIDE BODY WINDOW:

There shall be a window on the streetside of the body.

A 18" H x 40" W sliding window shall be installed. Window shall be tinted safety glass
encased in an extruded aluminum frame.
CURBSIDE ENTRY DOOR CONSTRUCTION:

The curbside entry door shall be constructed of reinforced .125" aluminum sheeting and shall
be approximately 2" thick. THE USE OF EXTRUSIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
DOORS SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED. Doors shall be insulated with polystyrene foam
insulation.

The door shall be mounted on full length polished stainless steel hinge with a minimum of
.250" stainless steel pins. The hinges are bolted to the body and doors every four (4) inches.

The door shall be flush mounted to prevent the gaskets from freezing to the body exterior.

The door jambs shall have gaskets on all four sides.

The inner door panel shall be constructed of 18 gauge polished stainless steel and shall be
bolted to the outer skin of the door.

Each door shall have stainless steel "D" handle latches, which will activate Hansen #300
series rotary locks via a threaded stainless steel rod with yoke end. There shall be a
turnbuckle installed on the rod for easy adjustment. The rotary locks shall be mounted on the
top and bottom of both doors and shall be mounted within the door pan.
DOORS THAT USE A SINGLE POINT, SINGLE CATCH LATCH WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

On the inside of each entry door shall be a stainless steel paddle and tray type handle.

Each door shall be equipped with Cleveland style spring loaded door closure. When a door is
open, the spring shall hold the door open at 90 degrees to the body. The door closure shall
allow the door to be closed by means of one hand.

There shall be an angled chrome grab handle mounted to each entry door to assist in closing
the door from the interior and entering from the exterior. The grab handle shall be chrome and
have rubber grip inserts.

Installed above the doorway shall be a padded head protector. The bumper shall be made of
padded foam and covered with color coordinated vinyl.

(1) WINDOW IN DOOR:

One (1) window shall be installed in the upper portion of the door.

The window shall be a 20" H x 16" W fixed window. Window shall be tinted safety glass
encased in an extruded aluminum frame.

CURBSIDE BODY WINDOW:

There shall be a window on the curbside of the body.

A 18" H x 40" W sliding window shall be installed. Window shall be tinted safety glass
encased in an extruded aluminum frame.
AWNING:

One (1) 12' roll out type awning shall be installed on the curbside body. The awning shall
extend from the front to the rear of the body side. When fully deployed, the awning shall be
self supported without the use of poles extending to the ground.

EXTERIOR COMPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION:

Each compartment shall be constructed as an independent unit with its own ceiling, floor, side
walls, and rear wall. THE USE OF A FORMED SHEET METAL BODY USING COMMON
WALLS BETWEEN COMPARTMENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

The ceiling and floors shall be constructed of .188" smooth aluminum. The walls shall be
constructed of .125" smooth aluminum. All seams in the compartments shall be fully welded to
eliminate any moisture problems in the compartments. The compartments shall be spatter
painted with epoxy type paint.

EXTERIOR COMPARTMENT VENTING:

Each compartment shall have machine stamped louvers in the rear wall.

EXTERIOR COMPARTMENT SPECIFICATIONS:

DRIVER'S SIDE:

The front driver's side compartment, L1, shall have a clear opening of 35" H x 47" W x 21" D
with a horizontzally hinged swing up door.

The driver's side compartment behind the rear wheels, L2, shall have a clear opening of 11" H
x 30" W x 21" D with a horizontally hinged swing up door.
OFFICER'S SIDE:

The front officer's side compartment, R1, shall have a clear opening of 24" H x 15" W x 21" D
with a horizotally hinged swing up door.

The officer's side compartment behind the rear wheels, R2, shall have a clear opening of 21" H
x 30" W x 21" D with a horizontally hinged swing up door.

COMPARTMENT DOOR CONSTRUCTION:

Each swing door shall be constructed of reinforced .125" aluminum sheeting and shall be
approximately 2" thick. THE USE OF EXTRUSIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
DOORS SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED. Doors shall be insulated with polystyrene foam
insulation.

All doors shall be mounted on full length polished stainless steel hinge with a minimum of .250"
stainless steel pins. The hinges are bolted to the body and doors every four (4) inches.

The doorjambs shall have gaskets on all four sides

Compartments with swing doors shall have stainless steel "D" handle latches, which will
activate Eberhard #26T-400 series locks via a threaded stainless steel rod with yoke end.
There shall be a turnbuckle installed on the rod for easy adjustment. The rotary locks shall be
mounted on the top and bottom of both doors and shall be mounted within the door pan.

DOORS THAT USE A SINGLE POINT, SINGLE CATCH LATCH WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

HORIZONTAL DOOR HOLD OPEN DEVICE:

Horizontally hinged doors shall be held open by means of two (2) gas struts, one (1) at each
end, that are rated and sized for their respective door.
COMPARTMENT L1:

The Stadco 20kw diesel generator shall be provided and installed in this compartment.

SHORELINE CONNECTIONS:

The electrical power, voice and data "shoreline" connections shall be housed in this
compartment.

COMPARTMENT R2:

Compartment R2 shall contain:

ELECTRIC CORD REEL PROVISIONS:

There shall be provisions in this compartment for mounting a customer supplied electric cord
reel with 300 feet of cord and capable of supplying 30 amps of power.

REAR STEP AND BUMPER:

The rear bumper and step assembly shall extend full width of the body.

The bumper structure shall be attached to the chassis frame rails using a minimum of 3"
structural channel. The bumper and step assembly shall extend beyond the rear of the
modular body approximately 11" to protect the body from damage.

The rear step shall be constructed of aluminum diamond plate with an open aluminum grip
strut insert in the center.

TRAILER HITCH:

One (1) class III trailer hitch shall be installed on the rear of the rescue vehicle. The trailer
hitch shall include an electrical connection.
                       ********MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT********

REMOVABLE WHITE DRY ERASE BOARD:

There shall be one (1) removable white dry erase marker board provided with the completed
apparatus. Board shall be 36" x 48" and include a full-length marker/eraser tray. Brackets
shall be installed on the outside of the vehicle for hanging the marker board below the
retractable awning.

PELCO CAMERA SYSTEM:

There shall be a Pelco Mast Top Camera System, model ES30CBW18-2W, provided and
installed. System shall include the following:

One (1) Pelco keyboard (KBD300A)
One (1) Pelco keyboard wiring kit (KBDKIT)
One (1) Pelco 4 amp power supply (WCS1-4)
One (1) Pelco 15" color LCD monitor (DX8008-250)
One (1) Wilburt telescoping camera mast

VCR/DVD RECORDER:

There shall be a Toshiba VCR/DVD recorder, model D-VR4, provided and installed with the
Pelco camera system. Location shall be in a cabinet at the rear of the streetside wall.
RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM:

The radio communication system shall consist of the following:

One (1) ACU 1000 digital radio interface switch shall be provided for inter-connection between
any type of radio, telephone or network based communication system.

VHF and UHF Scanner
VHF 2-way radio base unit
UHF 2-way radio base unit

Daniels Electronics AN150, P25 Repeater System for VHF (System Z13730, 30 watt) and UHF
(System Z13731, 30 watt)

There shall be twelve (12) customer supplied 2-way portable VHF radios with charger installed.

SATELLITE SYSTEMS:

There shall one (1) Datastorm F3, 1.2 meter mobile internet satellite data communication
system provided and installed.

There shall be one (1) Datastorm F1, .74 meter mobile two-way internet satellite voice
communication system provided and installed.

TV MONITOR:

One (1) Toshiba 20" widescreen flat panel LCD TV monitor shall be provided and connected to
the satellite voice communication system. Mounting location shall be determined.

COMPUTER/NETWORK SYSTEM:

There shall be a computer network system provided and installed with the latest Windows
operating system and most recent service pack. Included shall be the following:

One (1) rack mounted server
One (1) laptop computer for on board system control
One (1) laptop computer for remote system control
One (1) external port with 300' of CAT5 cable and wireless secure access point
Touch screen controls
Wireless local area network with Hi-Gain antenna

VOICE AND DATA COMMUNICATION PROVISIONS:

There shall be two (2) RJ-11 type phone jacks provided and installed at each workstation.
Phone jacks shall be wired to the shoreline connection or patch panel.

There shall be two (2) RJ-45 data jacks provided and installed at each workstation. Each LAN
socket shall be wired to a common router and in turn wired to the shoreline connection.
OPTIONAL PHONE SYSTEM:

There shall be an optional Norstar Modular ICS Phone System to accomodate twelve (12)
incoming lines and up to 32 extensions provided and installed including the following:

Twelve (12) full-featured, multiline Nortel digital phones with LCD display

Three (3) SX5E GSM fixed wireless terminal 850/1900Mhz voice/fax/data-spike antenna and
power supply

Two (2) SX5T 505C CDMA 1x1800/1900Mhz GPS fixed wireless terminal voice/fax/data with
spike antenna and power supply

One (1) dual band roof antenna

Two (2) SX5 rack shelves
                           * * * * * * * * BODY INTERIOR * * * * * * * *

CEILING:

The ceiling shall consist of full length white, pebbled Kallite fiberglass composite facia and
shall have a flush, vinyl covered aluminum plate for the overhead wiring raceway.

INTERIOR WALLS:

The lower walls of the body interior shall be covered with .125" aluminum diamond plate up to
the countertop height.

The upper walls shall be covered with white Kallite fiberglass composite sheeting with a
pebbled texture.

COMPUTER WORKSTATIONS:

Workstation areas shall be provided in the body interior along the streetside wall from the front
to the rear and along the curbside wall from the entry door to the rear. The workstation areas
shall be covered with smooth white Kallite fiberglass composite sheeting.

There shall be a 1" lip around the workstation top outer edge, with protective trim to protect the
top edge of the lip.

CABINETS:

There shall be a total of seven (7) cabinets provided and installed in the interior body.
Cabinets shall be constructed of aluminum and covered with smooth Kallite. Cabinets shall be
located as follows:

One (1) overhead cabinet shall be located on the streetside.
Two (2) overhead cabinets shall be located on the curbside.
One (1) cabinet shall be located on the streetside below the workstation area.
Three (3) cabinets shall be located on the curbside below the workstation area.

Dry erase board doors shall be installed on all seven (7) cabinets.
RACK CABINET:

There shall be a communications rack cabinet provided and installed at the rear of the
streetside interior body for housing the communications/radio equipment. Cabinet shall be
constructed of aluminum and covered with smooth Kallite. Cabinet shall be open with no door
on the front.

MARKER BOARD:

In addition to the cabinet doors, all vertical surfaces of the body interior that are 12 inches
square or larger shall be finished with white dry erase marker board.

ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER, FAX, SCANNER, COPIER:

There shall be one (1) HP Color LaserJet, model 2840, all-in-one laser printer, fax, scanner,
copier provided and installed in the interior communications area. Location shall be at the
streetside workstation area.




                        * * * * * * * * 12 VOLT ELECTRICAL * * * * * * * *

BODY WIRING DIAGRAM:

There shall be two (2) complete wiring diagram(s) supplied when the vehicle is delivered. The
diagram(s) shall include the 12-volt system and shall be customized for the vehicle and shall
not be a standard wiring diagram.
GENERAL ELECTRICAL:

All added on electrical circuits shall be protected by automatic resetting circuit breakers. All
added wiring shall be stranded copper, cross-link polyethylene insulation GXL high
temperature rated from -50F to +350F. All wiring shall be a minimum of 12-gauge wire
protected in a fire resistant loom. Wiring shall be color, number and function coded for each
individual circuit function. Labeling shall be every 3" along the entire length of the wire.

Where the wiring passes through metal, a grommet shall be used. All exterior wiring shall be
run in split loom to protect the wire.

Circuit connections shall be made on terminal blocks utilizing binding post screws for positive
mechanical connections.

All wiring connections shall be made using a crimp on connector.

Wiring in the module shall run down the center of the ceiling and be covered with color
coordinated vinyl, flush with the ceiling.

ELECTRICAL MULTIPLEX SYSTEM:

There shall be a Weldon Programmable Multiplexed Electrical System installed. The multiplex
system shall consist of all solid-state components contained inside aluminum extrusions
referred to as nodes. Each node shall consist of twenty-four (24) output channels and twenty-
four (24) input channels. All inputs and outputs shall be configured into a scaleable electrical
harness utilizing Duetsche connectors. The nodes must be waterproof and not require special
mounting requirements.

The system is expandable and shall be capable of performing the following functions: load
management sequencing, switch loads, receive digital and analog signals, perform and report
diagnostics and continuously report vehicle status.

Data shall be reported in "Real Time" and shall be displayed through several operator interface
modules. The VFD is the display, user interface display. El "Vista" shall be an option that
provides a built-in, audible alarm and menu-driven, input switches.
The placement of nodes throughout the apparatus enables a reduction in wire harness
bundles, elimination of redundant harnesses and separate circuit boards, relay and circuit
breakers, electrical hardware, separate electrical or interlock subsystems and associated
electronics for controlling various electrical loads and inputs.

The multiplex system shall be field re-programmable and re-configurable. The complete
multiplex system shall eliminate the need for the following separate components or devices:
load manager, load sequencer, warning lamp flasher, headlamp flasher, door open notification
system, interlock modules, separate volt meter, ammeter and temperature monitor.

12-VOLT POWER DISTRIBUTION PANEL:

The power distribution panel shall contain all major electrical components, (circuit breakers,
relays, solenoids, power supplies, etc.), including spare circuit breakers. Location shall be in a
hinged panel on the streetside of the front wall of the interior body.

BATTERY CONTROL SYSTEM:

Battery control shall be through a Master battery switch with an indicator light on the driver's
console. The main cable from the common point to the master switch shall be number O
gauge wire. The Guest battery switch shall be located on the driver's seat pedestal.

SPARE WIRES:

There shall be a minimum of two (2) spare wires installed in each loom running to the body of
the vehicle.

HEAT / AC UNIT:

A 12-volt heat/AC unit shall be provided by one combination system rated at 23000 Btu heat,
32000 Btu cooling with a 650 cfm fan. The system shall be capable of providing clean
pressurized air during heating, cooling or ventilation in the module independently from the
driver's compartment. Switches on the unit itself shall control the unit.
Location shall be overhead on the streetside of the front wall.

BODY INTERIOR LIGHTING:

Interior lighting shall consist of 12 volt, recessed fluorescent lights with two (2) 24" bulbs.
Switches shall be provided to turn the lights on. In addition, fluorescent task lighting shall be
provided and installed at each workstation.

REAR SWITCH PANEL:

The rear body switch panel shall be positioned for easy facilitation of switches. Exact location
to be stated at time of bid award.

This switch panel shall control interior lights and other specified items. The switches shall be
back lighted heavy-duty rocker switches. Each switch shall be labeled with the proper function
identification.

COMPARTMENT LIGHTING:

Each compartment shall have one (1) 4" recess mounted light installed in the ceiling. Opening
the compartment door shall turn on the light.

ELECTRONIC SIREN:

One (1) Signal SA430-007 siren shall be installed in the cab. The siren shall have a radio, air
horn, manual, wail, yelp, and Phaser modes: an on/off power switch and push button for
manual siren or air horn, horn ring override, noise canceling circuitry and volume control. It
shall have a backlit instrument panel for night use.

SPEAKER SYSTEM:

There shall be two (2) 100W speakers mounted in the grill on the front of the chassis and wired
to the electronic siren.

FRONT LIGHT BAR:

One (1) Whelen 9M series strobe light bar shall installed on the cab roof.

SIDE UPPER WARNING LIGHTS:

There shall be four (4) red Weldon 7800 series halogen flashing, upper warning lights installed.

Two (2) warning lights shall be mounted on the left upper body panel.
Two (2) warning lights shall be mounted on the right upper body panel.

SIDE BODY SCENE LIGHTS:

There shall be four (4) Weldon 7800 series HID clear scene lights installed.
Two (2) shall be mounted on the left upper side of the body.
Two (2) shall be mounted on the right upper side of the body.

The scene lights shall be controlled in pairs at the Vista display in the cab.

REAR BODY SCENE LIGHTS:

There shall two (2) Weldon 7800 series HID clear scene lights installed.

Two (2) lights shall be mounted on the rear upper body.

The scene lights shall be controlled in pairs at the Vista display in the cab.

STROBE POWER SUPPLIES:

Appropriate strobe power supplies shall be installed to power the strobe lights on the unit.
REAR TURN, BACK-UP, AND STOP/TAIL LIGHTS:

The rear turn signal, backup and stop/tail lights shall be a Weldon 2050 series three (3) light
cluster.

The rear turn signal shall be an amber arrow turn signal.

The backup light shall be a white back-up light.

The brake light shall be a red combination stop/tail light.

This three (3) light cluster shall be surface mounted in a stainless steel housing. One (1)
cluster shall be mounted on the right rear and one (1) cluster on the left rear of the body.

BACK-UP ALARM:

There shall be an electronic back-up alarm with momentary cut off switch installed and shall be
activated when the chassis is shifted into reverse.

CLEARANCE LIGHTS:

Nine (9) clearance lights, seven (7) red and two (2) amber, shall be installed to meet ICC,
FMVSS and other applicable regulations.

Two (2) pair of reflectors shall be installed on both sides of the vehicle.

UNDERBODY LIGHTS:

There shall be under body lights installed under the cab doors and on the front, center and rear
of the body.
                     * * * * * * * * 115/230-VOLT ELECTRICAL * * * * * * * *

BODY WIRING DIAGRAM:

There shall be two (2) complete wiring diagram(s) supplied when the vehicle is delivered. The
diagram(s) shall include the 115/230-volt system and shall be customized for the vehicle and
shall not be a standard wiring diagram.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, 115/230-VOLT:

All wiring shall be SOW-A type wire sized to match circuit breaker and receptacle outlet
capacity rating. This wire shall be fine stranded to withstand the flexing of the body and
chassis without damage to the wiring system.

All wiring shall be performed by qualified electricians and shall meet or exceed NFPA
standards.

All receptacle outlets shall be clearly labeled as to use.

EXCLUSIVITY RELAY:

An exclusivity relay shall be installed to protect overlapping circuits and potential feedback
problems. The relay shall be an automatic type, circumventing potential operator error.
Specifically, this relay shall keep 110-volt power sources separate, namely the shoreline and
the on board generator.

115-VOLT SHORELINE:

One (1) 20-amp 115-volt shoreline shall be installed in the unit to allow the use of 115-volt
electrical equipment on the apparatus by power from an outside source. A straight prong
connection shall be provided. The connection plug shall be a recessed male type to prevent
accidental arcing. A 20-amp ground fault breaker shall protect the shoreline.

115-VOLT INTERIOR OUTLETS:

Two (2) 15-amp, 115-volt interior duplex receptacles shall be installed in the module. Location
of the outlets to be determined.
GENERATOR:

A Stadco 20,000 watt, permanent mount, diesel generator shall be provided and installed.
This unit shall be single phase and water cooled with a 3-cylinder diesel engine running 1800
RPM.

Location shall be in compartment L1.

CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL:

There shall be a "Square D" circuit breaker panel installed to house all 120/240-volt circuit
breakers. Circuit breakers shall be appropriately rated to wire size and load demand. All
circuit breakers shall be labeled as to usage.

BODY PAINT FINISH:

The aluminum body exterior shall have all equipment such as warning lights and quartz lights
mounted on the body and removed prior to painting. This will insure that all areas are primed
and painted and that no holes or taps are drilled after painting.

The compartment doors shall be removed and painted separately to insure proper coverage on
the doors and door jambs.

All aluminum shall be primed with a chromate based phosphoric acid catalyzed self-etching
wash primer to provide superior corrosion resistance and excellent adhesion of the top coat.
Next, an acrylic urethane primer-sealer shall be applied to guarantee excellent holdout and a
uniform base coat. The third step includes a two-component surface to provide good enamel
hold-out of the top coat. Finally, a lead-free chromate-free medium solid acrylic urethane top
coat shall be applied, to match the chassis cab color providing excellent coverage and
durability. Paint shall be Dupont Imron. Color shall be white.
REFLECTIVE STRIPING:

1-1/2" reflective striping shall be applied to the rear of the unit. Striping shall be red and white
striped and shall run horizontally along the roof and bumper. Additional details to be
determined after the award of the bid.

LOGOS/LETTERING:

Logos and lettering shall be provided and applied on the apparatus as follows:

Red, white and blue EPA Emergency Response Logo shall be located on the top of the vehicle
from the front to the back. "US EPA" shall follow in black, block style lettering.

EPA Emergency Response Logo shall be located on the driver's door. Logo shall be
approximately 2' in diameter.

EPA Emergency Response Logo shall be located on the curbside. Logo shall be
approximately 3' in diameter. Exact location shall be determined.

UNDERCOATING:

The underside of the vehicle including all under-structure metal work shall be sprayed with
black automotive undercoating.

This undercoating shall aid in preventing corrosion and will provide sound and vapor barriers to
the aluminum body structure work.

Undercoating will not be applied within 12" of the exhaust system.
