              NOTICE OF CANCELLATION
                AND RESCHEDULING
    Planning Commission February 20, 2008 regular meeting

          PEAK Boys and Girls Club Hearings

Notice is hereby given that the Mercer Island Planning Commission
Regular Meeting of February 20, 2008 is cancelled. The next
Planning Commission Regular Meeting is scheduled to be held on
Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 7:30 pm at City Hall Council
Chambers, 9611 SE 36th Street, Mercer Island, WA.

The following hearings originally scheduled for the February 20
meeting have been rescheduled for the March 5, 2008 Planning
Commission meeting. These hearings were rescheduled at the
request of Islanders for Common Sense, which is a party to the
proceedings.

  1. File No. CUP06-001. The Planning Commission will conduct an open
     record Public Hearing concerning the application of the Boys and Girls
     Clubs of King County for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP06-001) to allow
     construction of the PEAK proposal, a 45,000 square foot Boy’s and Girl’s
     Club facility with exclusive and shared parking as well as an outdoor
     children’s play area. Proposed uses at the facility include a field house
     and licensed daycare. This Conditional Use Permit Public Hearing is open
     to testimony from any interested person. The Planning Commission may
     establish a time limit for individual testimony to ensure all persons wanting
     to be heard have an opportunity.

  2. File No. APL08-001. The Planning Commission will conduct a closed
     record Appeal Hearing concerning an appeal of the City’s SEPA Mitigated
     Determination of Non-Significance for the PEAK proposal. This appeal
     was filed by Amanda Clark, individually and as Chair of Islanders for
     Common Sense. This Appeal Hearing is open to the public, but only
     parties to the appeal (the appellant and the applicant) and their legal
     representatives may present argument. Because this is a closed record
     appeal hearing, no testimony or new evidence will be allowed The
     Planning Commission may establish a time limit for the appellant’s and the
     applicant’s argument.

  3. File No. APL08-002. The Planning Commission will conduct a closed
     record Appeal Hearing concerning an appeal of the City Code Official’s
     Administrative Interpretation #08-01 regarding calculation of impervious
     surfaces and requirements for simultaneous re-subdivision related to the
     PEAK proposal. This appeal was filed by Amanda Clark, individually and
     as Chair of Islanders for Common Sense. This Appeal Hearing is open to
     the public, but only parties to the appeal (the appellant and the applicant)
     and their legal representatives may present argument. Because this is a
     closed record appeal hearing, no testimony or new evidence will be
     allowed. The Planning Commission may establish a time limit for the
     appellant’s and the applicant’s argument.
