					Notice to Competitors No 09 2 Handed Inshore Series
Amendments to Notice of Race 4. Eligibility & Entry As per NOR 4.9 all entrants are required to complete and submit the 2 Handed Inshore Series Registration form. This form must be submitted no later than 2 hours prior to the scheduled start of the race or series. This form is available from the RPNYC Wardroom and is attached to this NTC. 4.11 Crew replacement or substitution must be applied for in writing and granted by the Sailing Committee no less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the race. The skipper listed on the 2 Handed Inshore Series Registration form must be on board for all races in the series.

5. Classes and Divisions The 2 Handed Inshore Series will be raced as a single Combined Fleet Division. 6. Schedule of Events 6.3 The 2 Handed Inshore Series – Race 1, 8th November 2008, shall start at 1100hrs. The warning signal for the start will be at 1055hrs.

Amendments to Sailing Instructions 12. Time Limits 12.3 is amended to include the 2 Handed Inshore Races. There shall be no time limit for the 2 Handed Inshore Races. Any boat finishing after 1830 hours shall do so in accordance with SI 12.3.

Explanation Amendments to Notice of Race The NOR has been altered to allow for replacement/substitute crew members to compete if required. It has also been altered as the Almanac incorrectly listed the event as being Divisional. Finally, the start time has been moved one (1) hour to allow competitors to vote in the General Election. The Election Date was not known at the time of compiling the Sailing Calendar.

I understand that yacht racing has inherent risks and dangers that are beyond the control of the organizing authority. I agree to be bound by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of Yachting New Zealand, the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and any amendments there to. I acknowledge and approve that the organizing Authority may divulge the information contained on this entry form to any agency involved in the safe conduct of this event. I understand that the RPNYC its officers, members and servants or other persons assisting with the conduct of yacht racing do not accept any responsibility in respect of any injury or loss to person or property that may be sustained by reason of participation in the yacht racing or howsoever arising in connection with yacht racing. I have read and understand my obligations as set out below and in the Yachting New Zealand Safety Regulations, Part II, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3: 2.1 The Safety of a yacht and her crew is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the owner, or owner's representative who must do his best to ensure that the yacht is fully found, thoroughly seaworthy and manned by an experienced crew who have undergone appropriate training and are physically fit to face bad weather. He must be satisfied as to the soundness of hull, spars, rigging, sails and all gear. He must ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and stowed and that the crew knows where it is kept and how it is to be used. Neither the establishment of these Special Regulations, their use by race , nor the inspection of a yacht under these Special Regulations in any way limits or reduces the complete and unlimited responsibility of the owner or owner's representative. Decision to race - The responsibility for a yacht's decision to participate in a race or to continue is hers alone - RRS Fundamental Rule 4.
