                                    DIRECTION




The arrangements for the payment of relocation and excess travel expenses for
Specialty Registrars (StRs) for the period 1 August 2007 until 31 July 2009 were set
out in the interim agreement between NHS Scotland Employers and the BMA
Scottish Junior Doctors Committee (SJDC) in PCS(DD) 2008/9.

The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, in exercise of the powers conferred
on her by Regulations 2 and 3 of the National Health Service (Remuneration and
Conditions of Service) (Scotland) Regulations 1991 and Section 105(7), paragraph 5
of Schedule 1 and paragraph 7 of Schedule 5 to, the National Health Service
(Scotland) Act 1978, hereby approves the continuation of the interim agreement on
junior doctor travel and relocation expenses as set out in PCS(DD) 2008/9 until such
time as a new agreement is reached.
