The mission of the UWF Master of Public Health program is to empower a generation of public health
professionals with skills, knowledge, and competencies to contribute creatively and ethically to education,
research, and service to promote public health and disease prevention. The MPH degree is the most widely
recognized professional credential for leadership in public health. The program core courses provide students
with a background in environmental health, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, biostatistics, and

The MPH is an extremely valuable degree which is increasing in value in the public health job market due to
huge projected retirements in the field and to dramatic increases in public health problems created by rising
