FULBRIGHT-HAYS PROGRAM GRANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR FACULTY AND DOCTORAL STUDENTS The FY2010 Fulbright-Hays student Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) and Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad (FRA) Programs opened on October 5, 2009. This program provides grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students and faculty to conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months. These programs are defined as research related to the comprehensive study of aspects of a society, including geography, history, culture, economy, politics, and/or international relations. The grants pay for air travel, a monthly living stipend, health and accident insurance, dependent allowances, and research project allowance. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States and must submit their application to the MSU Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA Project Director who is responsible for forwarding all student and faculty applications to the Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA Programs. The Fulbright-Hays DDRA and FRA Program deadlines are: November 11, 2009-MSU Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA budget submission deadline November 24, 2009-MSU Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA application submission deadline December 1, 2009-Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA national application submission deadline Additional information about these programs will be presented at a Fulbright/Fulbright-Hays DDRA/FRA Program Informational Seminar on either Friday, October 23, 2009, 321 Linton Hall from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. or Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 321 Linton Hall from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
