Telvent being awarded Chongqing Gas field (PetroChina) SCADA extension contract
Madrid, 3rd September, 2007 - Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, has announced today the awarding of SCADA system
extension project for Chongqing Gas Field (PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas Field Company).
With this project, the energy company will have the capability to collect more data from the existing OASyS SCADA system supplied by Telvent in the year 2001 and remote control more stations. Once concluded this project, the whole system will be able to manage and transmit data from 33 stations to Chongqing Control Center and Chengdu Control center.
According to Manuel Sanchez Ortega, Telvent chairman and chief executive officer, “It is for us a pleasure to continue working with PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas Field Co. in improving and optimizing their equipments. With this new contract, the energy company shows their confidence on us after 6 years of joint-working”.
This project is the extension for the contract signed in 2001 with a contract value of more than four million euro, for supplying the SCADA system for Sichuan Gas Grid. The scope included 3 control centers in Chengdu, Chongqing and Huayang, respectively, and 5 station control systems. After the project was finished in 2005, a system warranty contract and Huayang control center SCADA system expansion contract were signed. Telvent has developed similar projects worldwide. What worth mention is the SCADA system upgrade project for Kuerle-Shanshan crude oil pipeline in China in the year 2007.
