Factors may include: • CEO and management support • funding • an internal travel plan coordinator who is given time and resources to develop travel plan • good communications to ensure staff buy-in • integration into long-term business planning.] 3 2 Project overview 2.1 Roles Project sponsor: Internal travel plan coordinator: 2.2 Project objective [Describe objectives of project that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. They should relate to organisation's reason for implementing travel plan] 2.3 Project benefits [Describe main benefits that would be achieved when project targets are met.] The expected benefits are as follows: • Less congestion. Fewer employees travelling to and from the site by car will make the area less dangerous and more pleasant for walking and cycling. Customers/visitors will have easier access to our site. Noise levels will be reduced. • Reduced CO2 emissions. Fewer employees travelling to and from the site by car will make the air cleaner. • Fitter, less stressed employees. Staff who walk and cycle to work perform better and have fewer sick days. Improved retention. • Freeing up parking spaces. Parking spaces can be used for other purposes such as cycle and shower facilities, recreation, easier site access for visitors and deliveries. • More affordable travel options. Staff are likely to save on petrol and car running costs. The organisation will save on unnecessary business travel. Fleet management savings. Better triple bottom line. • Enhance organisation's reputation. Publicising energy savings good for business. 2.4 Project scope [Describe the project scope, including which sites will be covered and staff numbers. This should also touch on whether the travel plan will cover the commute to work and travel during the business day, a fleet audit, air and taxi travel.] 4 3 Project approach 3.1 How the project will be carried out [Describe how the project is to be carried out, eg using Land Transport New Zealand's travel planning tools and guidelines and the various stages in the process etc. Refer also to Overview of travel plan process guide.] 3.2 Steering group members This group will meet regularly with the travel plan coordinator to discuss progress, review key documents and agree on the actions to be included in the travel plan.
