I will provide a safe, loving, environment, where all children feel welcome. I will engage children in many different activities. I provide an affordable alternative to large expensive day care centers. As parents, your position in your child’s growth and learning is very important. Therefore, open communication between parents and your child’s day care provider is of utmost importance. I am a licensed family daycare provider in Washington County. I am licensed to care for up to 10 children, including my own. This means, I may have care for 3 children under the age of 2, with no more than 1 infant and 7 children preschool age and older. In order to become licensed, I have met health and safety standards required by the state of Minnesota. My home has been inspected and I have done all I can do provide a safe environment for your child/children. I am required to attend training sessions each year to help improve my skills. I have been Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid. I have had training in SIDS/Shaken Baby Syndrome. Each year I attend child development classes.
About Me :
Hi! My name is Becky and I have been working with children of many different ages in many different settings for several years. I worked at Tartan High School for 3 years with Special Needs students. I was a counselor at church camp for two years. I worked as a nanny for two summers for two little girls, ages 6 and 8. I started babysitting when I was 13 and have continued to do so through the years. I decided that I wanted to start my own daycare, so that I could be home with my own children. I have a passion for working with children. I love the way they make me laugh with all the things they do and say. I truly enjoy watching them grow, learn and succeed when trying new things. I look forward to working and growing with your child!

Activities:
I have many different areas of play/activities. These areas include dramatic play, blocks and puzzles, education area with letters, numbers, books, and a monthly calendar, large muscle skills and fine motor skills. An underarm temperature of 100° Vomiting Diarrhea Rash other than diaper or heat related Appears to have pink eye Sore throat Severe coughing Lice
If your child requires more care than we can provide without compromising the health And safety of the other children in our care If your child is unable to attend daycare on a scheduled day due to illness or your own vacation, payment is still required for your regular scheduled time. If daycare is cancelled because of illness in our family, one of our personal days will be used. You are required to notify us within 24 hours of any serious or contagious illness. We will then notify other parents as well. There will be no refund for sick days. If possible adjust your schedule so that medications can be given at home. If not possible you will need to sign a permission slip allowing us to administer the medication. All medications must be in original bottles. If your child contracts a serious, contagious illness listed in the Minnesota Statute 4605.7040, we must report it to the Minnesota Department of Health. Minnesota law requires all children enrolled in Minnesota Home Childcare must be immunized against polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, and rubella. Before we can accept your child for care you must complete a record of immunization. Children under the age of 15 months must have their physician sign the form.
Emergency Procedures
If for any reason your child would require emergency medical attention, I need to have written permission to follow any steps necessary for his/her wellness. I will notify you at the earliest possible time. I have a liability policy in effect to the limits required by the state of Minnesota and the Department of Public Welfare. This insurance will be used in the event of a catastrophic activity or accident. Your own insurance will otherwise be used.
Outings:
I will occasionally be taking walks to the neighborhood park. I will need written permission allowing me to bring your child/children on walks.
Toilet Training
The time to begin toilet training is mutually agreed upon by the parents and myself. Please dress your child in clothing that they can easily manage themselves. I want to encourage independence and success during this stage of development. This needs to be a joint effort between the parents and myself. Each child needs consistency at home and in childcare in order to be successful.
Items Brought From Home
I will provide a bin with your child’s name on it in order to store items needed while they are in our care. Items include: medications, sunscreens, insect repellant, disposable diapers, wipes, bottles, sippy cups, special dietary needs such as baby formula, food, and an extra change of clothes. I would like an extra change of clothes on hand at all times in case of an accident or a messy outside playtime.
Children’s Photos
I believe that daycare is a place where your child should feel comfortable. One way I like to include your child is by taking pictures and using your child’s photos for bulletin boards, parent gifts, and crafts. Your child’s picture will never be used for advertisement or for any other outside use. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
Discipline
According to MN state rules, we are not allowed to use any type of physical discipline such as hand slapping, spanking, hitting, pinching, ect.. We will not do or say anything that will threaten, humiliate, or frighten your child. We will redirect your child to another activity if they are not cooperating.
