For Immediate Release AUGUST 31, 2007 CORETECH WINS CONTRACT FOR DETA “COMPUTERS FOR TEACHERS” INITIATIVE Local integrator and specialist education supplier Coretech has won a lucrative Queensland State Government contract to supply Laptops to 7500 Queensland School Teachers as part of the Department of Education and Training “Computers for Teachers” initiative. The Lenovo R61 Thinkpads will be delivered before Christmas and represent the first stage of the initiative. Subsequent stages will see Laptops supplied to over 39,000 Queensland Teachers over the next 3 years. “It’s a significant win for us as a local supplier,” says David Wain, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coretech. “We wrapped a great solution around a great product, and the customer has demonstrated that they want a quality, robust device for their workforce.” The rollout of the computers coincides with the delivery of the Departments Managed Operating Environment (MOE) which is being deployed in Schools state wide. “The MOE is a centrally managed environment and provides an important part of the infrastructure on which initiatives like this can be delivered,” says Wain, “As part of our bid we offered the integration of Lenovo Thinkvantage Technologies into the MOE image and the customer saw real value in this. We now have a highly customised and tightly integrated rescue and recovery solution that fits the unique requirements of the project.” The tender for the project, announced in May, specified a high performance device including Dual Core processors, 2 gigabytes of memory and Microsoft Vista capability. The Lenovo R61 Thinkpad unit offered included a 14” Widescreen, a DVD burner and 3.5 year warranty.
