I moved to San Francisco from Texas for school Fall 2002. We met shortly after in March 2003. I saw him across the room and mustered up some courage and approached him. I initiated the conversation and it turns out that we had a few mutual friends and a lot in common. We knew from day one that there was something special between us and this was it. We have been dating ever since. At first I was shy to tell him how I felt, so I secretly took a dollar bill out of his wallet and wrote on it "If you see this, it means I love you and that we were meant to be" and then I stuffed it back into his wallet, hoping he would find it. He has stuck through the rough stages of my school days and stood by my side and I have stuck through the Monday night football times! Ever since we went to a wedding at Grace Cathedral, we knew that it was the place we had to get married and especially because we both came from a Christian background. The Proposal: We had a romantic and delicious dinner at Aquarella in San Francisco, the food was amazingly scrumptious and the seat was very intimate like a "sweetheart" table. After dinner, he said that he wanted to meet our out of town friend at the Mark Hopkins hotel for a drink. We found parking and then he suggested that we cut across the park. There was a beautifully lit fountain and he asked me to sit down on the park bench. He handed me a letter confessing his love and devotion to me and how he had asked my parent's permission for this special day. To my surprise, taped to the bottom of the letter was the same dollar bill I had written on back in February 2003. He had kept it all this time and he said when he found that, he knew that this is how he would return it to me.
