CyberCafe Network Administrator
Job Description:
The person in this position will install, configure, maintain, and administer the organization's
LAN and wireless network; administer the web server and perform system backups on web and
network servers: and design and support server system(s) and supporting software. Required
technical skills include Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory, Windows 2000/2003 Server, Web
Server Administration, and MS IIS 5.0/6.0 DELL Experience with MCSE, SQL 2000 Server,
PowerEdge servers, and disaster recovery is desired. Excellent interpersonal, change
management and communication skills are desired. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver,
and JavaScript will be beneficial. This person will analyze problems and technical requirements
and develop and oversee the implementation of appropriate solutions with hardware, software,
databases, and applications in the computer and networking environment. They will need to
work with the other departments when making changes or additions to the CyberCafe hardware,
software, databases, applications, and Web server. This person will coordinate with the Web
Support Specialist on the CyberCafe Web site.

Job Responsibilities:
   • Ensures network (LAN/WAN and voice) security access and protects against
      unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
   • Comprehensive/proactive monitoring of all technology platforms, services and systems.
   • Isolation and diagnosis of general system problems.
   • Determination and assignment of appropriate service priorities and escalation as
      required.
   • Execution of service requests.
   • Maintenance of hardware and software on all Microsoft servers and workstations.
   • Maintenance of all printers, document scanners and copiers.
   • Maintenance of hardware and software audit systems.
   • Maintenance of the Ethernet and wireless network and all connected devices.
   • Back up of all the servers.
   • Maintenance of all anti-virus systems.
   • Maintenance of the network (Firewall, routers), servers and data security and integrity.
   • Maintenance of the Intranet, Internet access and mail server.
   • Contact and supervision of outside vendor services (when system needs repair).
   • Security System: Assure that all doors, cameras and recording system are in good
      working

CyberCafe Customer Support

Job Description:
The person in this position will install, configure, maintain, and administer the organization's
desktop systems and client configurations for accessing network servers Required technical
skills include Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory, Windows XP, Web applications, and general
office software. A solid understanding of workstation security and software deployment is
desired. Excellent interpersonal, change management and communication skills are desired.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and JavaScript will be beneficial. This person will
analyze problems and technical requirements and develop and oversee the implementation of
appropriate solutions with hardware, software, databases, and applications in the computer and
networking environment. They will need to work with the other departments when making

CyberCafe Graphic Artist
Job Description:
This person in this position will be responsible for the main logo design and direct marketing
materials including brochures, newsletters, etc. for the CyberCafé. Strong layout and graphic
design skills required. Candidate must be proficient in Adobe CS versions of Photoshop,
Illustrator, InDesign and knowledge of Dreamweaver MX 2004. Other duties may include digital
photography and editing. Candidate must also be able to meet specific deadlines. This person
will work in the Marketing department and work closely with the Web Support Specialist.

Job Responsibilities:
   • Develop new logo for CyberCafé
   • Apply new logo to existing materials
   • Design new marketing materials
   • Edit/update existing marketing materials
   • Take photographs
   • Edit existing photographs for print/web use
   • Develop monthly newsletter and print

CyberCafe Database Management

Job Description:
The person in this position will maintain, update and manage the CyberCafe
A strong relational database design, implementation and management background is required.
Candidate should possess strong SQL and effective communication skills. A background in
Visual Basic programming and JavaScript is desired. Knowledge of web applications and
infrastructure components would be beneficial.

Job Responsibilities:
   • Oversee changes to database design to understand how the changes will affect the
      physical database
   • Communicate with other IT areas to determine the impact of database changes on the
      system
   • Ensure customers have access to database data as needed
   • Secure database data from unauthorized access
   • Monitor system performance and work with programmers when modifications to
      programs are needed to increase processing performance
   • Provide consultation to application developers when new content or functionality needs
      to be added to the system
   • Create employee user accounts and grant privileges to data

CyberCafe Programmer
Job Description:
The person in this position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of
computer programs for the CyberCafe computer systems. Candidates for this position must be
proficient in Visual Basic, Java, C++, and Web development applications. They will need to be
able to work with other departments in the development of web application on the company’s
internet and intranet. Database knowledge is recommended.

Job Responsibilities:
   • Write, test, and maintain detailed programs or software, for the CyberCafe computer
      systems.
   • Code instructions in one of the following programming languages: Visual Basic, Java,
      C++, GUI development tools.
   • Update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs on the CyberCafe computer
      system.
   • Debug programs by testing them, making changes, and rechecking them until they run
      correctly.
   • Develop application user manuals of the users, programmers, and operation staff.
   • Be knowledgeable of current software to handle a specific job or application.
   • Maintain and control system software on the CyberCafe system.
CyberCafe Web Support Specialist
Job Description:
The person in this position will maintain the current Web site that provides information about the
CyberCafe and the products available for sale at the café. Currently, no products are being sold
online. A strong knowledge of HTML and CSS is necessary. Experience with Dreamweaver MX
2004, Fireworks MX 2004, and Flash MX 2004 is desired. Knowledge of JavaScript will be
beneficial. This person is responsible for all text and graphic content for the site. They will need
to work with the other departments when making changes or additions to the CyberCafe Web
site. This person will not be directly responsible for the Web server but they must be able to
effectively communicate with the server administrator.

Job Responsibilities:
   • Update Web site information when needed
   • Optimize and prepare graphics for Web. Digital pictures will be updated each week
   • Redesign site periodically to keep it looking fresh
   • Create and maintain Flash content which comprises only a small percentage of the site
      content
   • Utilize JavaScript to validate form content. We currently have a Coffee Club where
      customers can join and earn points toward free beverages and merchandise with each
      purchase. The membership form is available online. The information collected by the
      form is posted to an Access database
   • Update and maintain a CSS file to control the layout and design of the site
   • Create weekly online specials that can be printed and used at the café
   • Respond to any communication that is received via the Comments form or email links
   • Work with Marketing to update the “CyberNews” information each month

Job Description:
