we will use it for purposes of this assignment

Go to Census 2000 Reports. You must login to access the
demographics. Registration is free. a powerful array of free web-based
tools for analyzing the geography of key Census 2000 data series. The
primary feature of this website that we will use is an interactive "ring
study" tool that lets you pick any address in the U.S. and count the

underserved city neighborhoods.
The distinctive feature of this website is consumer expenditure
information for over 70,000 cities, towns and ZIP Codes. After finding a
location, you will then be presented with summary charts of information
describing each location including the current year population estimate,
17 popular demographic tables of information describing race, age,
housing, income, transportation and occupational information. Market
size estimates for each location in 100 different consumer spending
categories. Also has free aerial maps and topographic maps.

What this site offers in addition to demographic data that other websites
also provide is an overall glimpse at household spending patterns for a
given zipcode. Household spending reported includes total consumer
expenditures as well as expenditures on education, entertainment,
transportation, retail, and non-retail. They also provide information on the
quality of life such as a culture index and crime index.

The Site Analysis Toolkit allows you to create demographic maps for any
location in the United States. These ring study maps visually display
demographic information in terms of a radius in miles. It can be
customized to a user-chosen radius. Another useful feature of the site is
that you can obtain low, median, and high local area construction costs
(courtesy of RS Means) for different building types such as office, low rise
apartments, etc.

This website allows users to graphically visualize environmental,
resource, demographic, economic, social, political, and historical
dimensions of American life. This website differs from terraxsite.com in
that it can provide a bigger picture e.g., from a state and national
perspective.
Click on zoom 4-6 for a Zip Code map and to obtain the surrounding zip
