Description: COMMUNITY YOUTH FORUM FLYER PDF Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office COMMUNITY YOUTH FORUM “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela Dr. Ephraim Williams Family Life Center and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office will provide families a safe place to learn about community and cultural differences that affect families, and introduce the community’s youth to gang and gun laws, the criminal justice system, and to family service agencies. · Learn about Adult Time for Adult Crimes Laws · Truancy Law and Juvenile Offenders · Special Presentation on Gang Violence and Gun Laws When: Saturday, March 27th, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Breakfast served at 9:00 a.m. - Program starts at 10:00 a.m.) Where: St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center 4036 14th Avenue Sacramento, CA 95820 Speakers: Keynote Donna Stallworth - mother of Dante Stallworth and author of From Prep to Pro: Through the Eyes of an NFL Mom Opening Comments from Reverend Williams and District Attorney Jan Scully Juvenile Court Judge Troy Nunley Assistant Public Defender Jo Ann Harris Gang prosecutor and law enforcement will educate community members and youth on consequences of gang violence and gun usage. Information will be provided about programs including mentoring, after school, GED, Job Corps, parenting skills and gang violence prevention.
