I gaze out my large windows at my own personal tropical oasis,

2 beautiful acres including a spring fed dam surrounded by trees

and manicured lawns. I live in an amazingly beautiful 14 room home

only minutes from my favorite beach; drive a stylish silver Landrover

Freelander; travel overseas whenever I fancy, a"ending all the personal

development workshops and seminars I want. I take myself and my

children on wonderful adventures around the world and have a lifestyle

many people adore. I’m a Success Mentor to tens of thousand of people,

an international speaker, a bestselling author and internet marketing

expert!

As I write this, I feel a sense of gratitude "ood my body as I gaze

upon the family of wild kangaroos and their joeys feed on the lush

green grass of my property and re"ect on my journey over the past 5

years from welfare to millionaire.

A$er my husband le$ me with a 6 month old and 3 year old, I lived

in constant struggle for many years. I was working seven days a week

in my clothing business which I no longer enjoyed, had over $100,000 of

debt and was surviving !nancially through welfare. My future looked

bleak and to say I was stressed about money was an understatement.

My entire life revolved around money or, more precisely, the lack

of it. Money consumed me; frustrated me, annoyed me and scared me,

and it most de!nitely eluded me. When it came to creating wealth, I felt

powerless, hopeless, useless and worthless. I knew deep down inside

I was a good person, so why was my life such a shambles? What had I

done to deserve this? “What was wrong with me?!”

Then I discovered there’s a secret to ge"ing everything you could

ever want in life. It’s really simple; in fact, it may be something you

have heard about, or understand already. There is a law, a Universal

Law, which states, “We a"ract whatever we choose to give our a"ention

9

to – whether wanted or unwanted.” The result of this law is this: if

you continue to focus on the lack and limitation in your life, you will

continue to create and a"ract more lack and limitation. If you instead

focus on the wealth, abundance and prosperity that is already present

in your life – no ma"er how small it may currently be – then you

will instead begin to create and a"ract more wealth, abundance and

prosperity.

For some people, this comes naturally. For others (like me), this

can be a slow and arduous journey. Through my many money failures,

mistakes and unwise decisions when it came to practical money-

making steps, I have been fortunate enough to develop a passion for

‘what makes people rich.’ It is through this passion that I have been able

to create my own incredible wealth, and now, share these secrets with

people across the globe.

My !rst thought was, “Okay, just focus on prosperity, wealth and

riches, then that’s what I’ll a"ract.” However when you’re raising 2 small

children on your own, have $100,000 of debt, making $15,000 a year and

constantly can’t pay the bills, keeping your focus on abundance is NOT

an easy thing.

However, you have a choice as to where your energy or a"ention

is focused. You can choose to focus on what is working in your life

and what you want more of, or you can choose to focus on what isn’t

working and what you don’t want. Either way you get more of whatever

it is you focus on.

I adore sharing everything I know with anyone who will listen –

including my children, constantly telling them, “What you focus on

becomes your reality.” When I was in my stage of a"racting money, but

it was "owing out just as fast, my daughter would say, “Blah...blah...

blah. We don’t need a lecture about that spiritual stu#, it doesn’t work

anyway! We’ve still got no money.”

And that was the truth. We were still struggling !nancially even

though I was saying my a!rmations and visualizing what I desired a

couple of times a day. The problem was, the rest of time I was seeing

10

bills and feeling my solar plexus tighten. I was experiencing fear, worry

and panic about where the money would come from, that I would never

have enough, that I would be struggling forever.

I had to stop and look at what I was creating for myself when my

daughter. who was around twelve at the time, came to me the day

before her school dance and said, “Mum, I need some new shorts for

the dance.”

Now I need you to really get this picture – I was having a really

tragic week !nancially. I’d had a check bounce, a few bills had come in,

including a red-le"er bill (those scary ones), and I was beginning to go

into my usual panic mode around money.

So the conversation went a li"le like this…“Can you buy me

my shorts and shoes? I really need them!” “Darling, I don’t have the

money right now.” “You never buy me anything; I have to have them!”

“Darling, I said I don’t have the money.” “Can’t you just put it on your

credit card?”

The credit card was up to the limit, so that wasn’t an option and by

this time I’m starting to freak out. I am seething with all sorts of very

negative, very strong emotions. Frustration, because even though I was

making good money, it was disappearing; embarrassment, because I

felt so hopeless at managing my money; guilt, because I felt like a bad

mother for not being able to buy things for her; sadness, because I knew

how disappointed she would be because she’d be missing out once again

and anger, because she was asking me for something I just didn’t have.

Unfortunately, anger was winning, and the picture was not pre"y.

The veins on my temples were throbbing, my eyes were bulging

out of their sockets, I was hissing through gri"ed teeth, had spit "ying

out of my mouth and I’m sure there were traces of steam coming out

of my ears as I screamed like a banshee going to war, “I don’t have the

money to pay all our bills! I’ve got to try and pay the phone bill before

they cut it o#. We just don’t have the money – don’t you understand?

We’re broke right now! WE DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY!”

11

She looked me squarely in the eye and in all the wisdom of her

twelve years upon this earth said to me in her most disgusted tone,

“Well, if that’s how you FEEL whenever you think about money – the

Universe is NEVER going to make us rich.”

And I felt like someone had just punched me in the stomach. In that

moment, plain as day, I could see why I was still struggling !nancially. I

was a"aching my strongest emotions – all negative – to the one thing I

wanted most. And in doing so, I was repelling it. I was pushing money

away. I was making sure it didn’t stay long enough for me to enjoy.

My emotional outburst was not about having money; it was about

NOT having money. So ‘not having money’ was the dominant vibration

or energy (or order), that I was sending out to the Universe day a$er

day. And the Universe was picking up that ‘not having money’ order

and giving it straight back to me, day a$er day.

I was blessed to be shown that although I thought I was focusing

on the prosperity I desired, I was actually focusing on what I didn’t

want, and so kept re-creating it over and over. Since that fateful day, by

changing my focus and cultivating a ‘Millionaire Mindset’, I have gone

on an amazing journey from marketing a personal development course

to becoming a Life Coach, to creating a number of highly successful

coaching and mentoring businesses which focus on showing others

how to create a life !lled with prosperity, abundance, success and

happiness.

I have gone from welfare to millionaire through doing what I

LOVE. I show others how they can do the same. By doing what makes

your heart sing, the way will be shown, opportunities will arise,

contacts will be made and you will tap into that limitless "ow of success

and prosperity. I teach people world wide how to tap into that limitless

stream of abundance and success through the metaphysical AND by

applying simple practical strategies.

What was my biggest challenge – relentless money struggle –

turned into my biggest opportunity – teaching you how to be wealthy,

abundant and RICH beyond your wildest dreams! I o#er free resources

I LIVE TO INSPIRE

Terri Billington

I sit in my beautiful living room and gaze out the window, admiring

the green park with its large trees gently swaying in the breeze. There

are tall city buildings in the distance re"ecting the vivid autumn colors

of a typical West Australian a$ernoon. I live in an executive apartment;

drive a black Mercedes SLK200; travel interstate and overseas regularly

a"ending personal development and educational seminars. I have

a wonderful life with my husband and children and a lifestyle many

admire. I am a keynote speaker, a business coach and an author.

I feel gratitude for the beauty that surrounds me and re"ect on my

journey over the past 5 years, from pushing pens to pushing boundaries.

I was no longer going to accept middle of the road. My new being now

allows me to make a di#erence to many I come in contact with, and this

is how I believe I inspire others.

I have been blessed to have so many exceptional mentors and

coaches who have put a mirror in front of me with the strongest possible

message of, ‘Look Terri! This is who you can be.’ I chose to take that

message and learn and grow from it, which has lead to my purpose in

life of inspiring others to achieve their goals and dreams. I have gone

from strength to strength doing what I love and I encourage others to

do the same.

A$er 12 years of working my way up the corporate ladder, I came

to the realization I was not satis!ed with where I was heading. My job

was no longer enjoyable and ge"ing out of bed each day to go there

was a struggle. My future seemed dictated by others and that disturbed

me. I realized that every moment is so precious and my true happiness

would only come from the inspiration I could build within myself,

and I was not allowing that while in my existing job. A$er serious soul

searching and guidance from a true friend, I took her advice and made

the decision to resign.

14

I was !nally free from the restraints I had allowed myself to be

emotionally a"ached to. Free to make the decisions which would take

me along the journey for the rest of my life. It was scary but exciting at

the same time, and gave me a sense of relief. There is a universal law

which states “In order to gain more in life you need to create some

space,” and that I did. I had no idea what was going to !ll this new

found space, but strongly believed that the opportunities would "ow to

me. In less than a week I had been o#ered two jobs, one as a Real Estate

Agent with a lucrative package plus commission, and one as a Property

Investment Coach. But my passion for property investing and coaching

made it easy to make a decision. I wanted the opportunity to inspire

others and to help them to create wealth.

Previously my life revolved around money and was the foundation

for many of my decisions. However, a$er my resignation my values

changed, and my life was now about inspiration, integrity and

abundance, and coaching allowed me to live those values and inspire

others to live theirs.

Investing wisely in property allowed several of my clients and

myself to increase our !nancial positions considerably. However, my

career as a coach soon moved from property investing to business. My

husband and I have a mechanical repair business which grew to new

levels a$er the introduction of a business coach. This success inspired

me to change to business coaching. I now coach many business owners

on how to create a life full of prosperity and abundance.

Business coaching has provided me with many opportunities to

inspire others through presenting. I adore sharing everything I know

with anyone who will listen, and presenting gives me this opportunity.

I cannot explain the exhilaration I feel when I present to an audience.

Earlier my life was based on ego and looking good, now it is based on

ful!llment of an obligation. Because of my change of direction from

educated mentors, I believe I have a responsibility to the universe to

inspire others to be the best they can be, and I have the con!dence to lead

others who have not yet reached that depth of awareness. Eventually

15

they may forget what I have said, but they will never forget how I made

them feel.

I !nd I teach what I need to learn. Through my mentors I have

learned the art of being a be"er communicator. With presenting, my

!rst objective was to improve my voice production which now allows

me to be more persuasive and appealing to an audience. This creates a

powerful learning environment resulting in a be"er response to their

individual challenges. At least seventy !ve percent of your day is spent

communicating with your voice and it is my recommendation that

professional people receive some training in the art of sounding more

interesting when they take on public speaking.

Being able to speak "uently and with a sense of humor in front

of an audience creates con!dence within yourself and admiration

from those present. Having this con!dence has allowed me to see my

value as a presenter. There was a time when I would have presented

just for the thrill of being there, and in certain circumstances for

worthwhile charities I still o#er my services. But now with my new

found con!dence in public speaking, I am ready to take on the world

as a keynote speaker.

Have you ever wondered why some people are positive and some

are not? The answer is simple - it does not ma"er, the only thing to

be concerned about is whether or not you are positive. It is so easy

to get caught up in others lives and buy into their stories and make

them yours. All of us have the ability to turn on the positive. We make

decisions upon waking how our day will go. We all have choices and

no ma"er what we choose the day to be, we can in"uence the outcome,

positive or negative.

I believe that every problem has a solution. With every challenge

there are lessons and opportunities which can be used later. You control

your thoughts and feelings and you make the choices that determine

your fate.

One of my biggest beliefs is that everything is in perfect order and

it is only the boundaries I create in my mind which keeps me from

16

living my life of success. So that is it - all you need to do is to create new

boundaries and then you will achieve all you have ever desired. The

decision it easy, but the discipline to follow it through is where it can

become di!cult.

I believe above all else that I am living my life to inspire, and this

has been justi!ed over and over again by acknowledging that the most

ful!lling people I have ever met are the ones who inspired me.

AGAINST ALL ODDS

Barbara Saker

I jerked awake and sat up quickly in the darkness of that small

bedroom. My heart was pounding, sweat was pouring o# me and I

was shaking. Suddenly the knowledge hit me that I was going to lose

my house.

In the darkness of the night, all alone, my fate seemed inevitable.

54 years old with no home, no money, and no support.

I was divorced with grown children, and the pain and pressure of

a broken marriage forced me to make a decision to leave Melbourne

and return to Queensland where I was born. I dreamed that I was going

to Paradise, where I would walk the beaches every day, swim, lay on

golden sands and all life would be beautiful.

I had just !nished my Naturopathic studies, and really wanted to

work in that !eld. A friend of mine who ran a very successful clinic

on the Isle of Capri called me and o#ered me a contract to work with

him.

I was amazed at the opportunity to work in a busy clinic, exactly

where I wanted to live. All my prayers were being answered.

For the !rst six months life was magic. I walked the beach, worked

only 4 days a week and was well paid.

Two of my children came up to visit. Life was good. I was living in

a unit overlooking the main beach at Surfers Paradise. Could it get any

be"er than this?

I decided to purchase my own home. I saw a For Sale sign on a

home on the Gold Coast Highway. It was a run down house on a perfect

corner lot where I could live and work from home - To this day I cannot

believe what I did – I signed an unconditional contract on a house that

was overpriced - I did no homework and allowed myself to be led like

a lamb to the slaughter.

18

I realized a few weeks later just how bad a situation I was in, but

with a signed contract I knew I was in for a !ght that somehow I had

to win.

A chiropractor that was working with me in the clinic found

out about the house and o#ered to give me money with a plan of a

future partnership. He had family who were builders and could do the

renovations. In my head it seemed the perfect solution and, with that

deal in place, the banks were willing to back me. Finally the sale of the

house closed.

Within a month, the chiropractor went to a lawyer and demanded

his money back in 30 days and again I was in trouble.

I went to six banks trying to obtain an extra loan to pay this man

out and six times I was refused. If I did not have the money in 30 days I

would lose all that I owned.

I was sick to my stomach constantly and facing this man every

day at work I had to watch him seemingly sneer, and laugh at my

discomfort.

I knew I had to calm down and call on any inner strength I could

muster if I was ever to get out of this mess that I had created.

I thought about all the self-help books that I had read but had not

really put into action. If there was ever a time to test the theories of

those authors, believe me it was now!

I dug out one of my favorites The Science of Ge"ing Rich from an

old cupboard and re-read it.

That’s when I realized I was so focused on the fact that I would lose

the house that I forgot Rule Number 1, “What you focus on you will

achieve.” There I was like a tidal river rushing towards destruction with

my mindset totally askew.

That night I sat down with an empty notebook and wrote out all

the renovations that I would do to the house. How I would divide it

into two sections, one part to live in and the other would become my

clinic. I also planned the amount I would need to earn to keep the house.

Suddenly I knew if I started to work from home immediately I would

19

have double the income compared to where I worked now as they were

taking 50% of the money I earned as rent.

A good cleaning and a few of the rooms painted, I could make it

happen now.

I got up early the next morning and was at my bank !rst thing. I

asked to see the Bank Manager and a$er a three hour wait I was admi"ed

to his o!ce. I asked him this question “If I doubled my income, would

you give me an extra loan?” and went on to explain how I could a#ord

to do this. He was doubtful that I could achieve it and then told me that

he would make a decision in three days. My deadline was fast running

out. I had only 4 days le$ before I could be exposed to a forced auction.

Although my heart was racing and my palms were sweaty. I thanked

the manager and le$ planning to spend as much time as possible in

the next three days meditating, planning in my notebook – anything to

keep calm and focused on keeping the house.

Going through my self help books I found one that I had not even

read called ‘The Wisdom of Florence Scoville Shinn.’ The book was

simply wri"en and in it I found a chapter on the blessing and how

important it can be. This struck a chord with me as I had been brought up

a Catholic and thought the vibration of a blessing would be important.

It would calm my mind and hopefully reach the other person. The night

before the banks decision I sat up all night. I couldn’t sleep anyway. In

my mind and in my book I planned the future I wanted to live and I

blessed every soul connected to my loan with divine love.

At work the day the decision was to be handed down, I found

myself going between periods of sheer terror and telling myself that I

would get the loan.

The receptionist knew I was waiting for a call from the bank

manager, and when my solicitor called she told him that I couldn’t talk

just now. He le$ a message to call him back and that it was urgent. My

heart sank.

The bank manager rang 5 minutes later, and with shaking hands I

took the call. All he said was, “I’ll give you the loan. Come in tomorrow

20

and sign the papers.” I let out a shout of joy and fell to the "oor

crying. My solicitor rang back in a few minutes, and told me that the

chiropractor was calling a midnight auction on the house because he

wanted ownership of the house for the price of the loan.

I swear that the best words I have ever spoken were, “I have the

money. The house is mine.”

I send heartfelt gratitude to all those authors for teaching me how

to bring a miracle into my life against all odds.

LIVING OUT YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL

Marion Gaertner-Jones

T hroughout our lives the universe continually provides us with

opportunities to use our inner potential to overcome challenges.

To succeed, we only need to realize that to be truly happy and live in

abundance is to allow ourselves to become an expression of love.

Coming into this world as a new soul can be overwhelming at !rst.

We learn about how to live inside our world through experiences – both

positive and negative.

Due to our lack of knowledge in universal laws, we fail to realize

that each of our experiences is already based in perfection. So, we believe

that the things that happen to us are good, fair and just, or bad, unfair

and unjust. We are either elated by what we encounter in life or we are

hurt. And in response, we make judgments about how we believe each

situation will impact our future and how we therefore need to deal with

it, so as to always keep our own world intact.

The emotions that come with being at one with the universe can be

intense. They are the times when life feels like heaven on earth, when we

can feel divine energy vibrating through every level of our being.

It is during those times that we need to look a li"le further and

see the world and everyone in it as a whole – every piece, including

ourselves, needing to be in its exact place right now to make the puzzle

complete and ever evolving.

We also know the emotions that come with denying this essence of

love within, pushing it aside for a myriad of reasons. We believe that

by pushing it aside and not allowing it to "ow freely throughout our

being, we will keep the hurt away. We will be able to operate at a safer

level, not having to face and deal with disappointments and pain.

Instead of allowing love to direct us, it is during these times

that we allow what we call logic, common sense, our ego to prevail

– never realizing that they can be distorted over time by our thinking

22

and the picture we have painted of the world and how we believe it

functions.

But love – our divine essence - is still involved. It allows us to be

who we think we should be at any given time.

So, if we encounter an experience where we are deeply hurt, so

deeply that we believe relationships, whether professional or personal,

have been destroyed, love will move aside for us. It will allow us to

believe that the situation cannot be resolved and we need to move on,

give up or be resigned to the outcomes. It will move us through pain,

loss, grief and sorrow, so that a$er some time we are able to refocus

on life di#erently, believing that we have grown and learned from the

experience. That this is what life is all about a$er all – to live and learn –

and that with this new knowledge we will be able to be"er judge future

encounters and hence respond in a way which will ensure the loss and

hurt cannot recur.

Or further still, we make a decision that the pain was so intense

that we can’t bear to ever deal with this type of life experience again.

So, we start to build a wall of protection around us – be it to keep others

from ge"ing too close, from business associates taking advantage of us

or the like. We build ourselves an imaginary fortress, which we believe

will protect us from anyone or anything with negative intentions. And

we only ever allow ourselves to feel any new experience to a certain

‘safety’ level, before we pull away into our fortress for fear of repeating

the past.

Whether we realize or not, this is how we live our lives.

If we only knew the truth. That love is always present - always in

its purest form, never changing. And true to the divine spirit, it allows

us to live, learn, and grow, even if that means separating us from all

it has to o#er. Love waits and watches patiently from a quiet corner

within our hearts, hoping that one day we will awaken and come to

the realization that all things can be overcome, if only we allow love to

take our hand.

23

Taking love’s hand involves looking at ourselves and others

honestly, and recognizing that we all operate at a level appropriate to

our level of evolution. We are part of a puzzle that is evolving.

We are in"uenced by our experiences in the world and the actions

and reactions these bring with them. Our frequencies reverberate with

every other being in the universe. We are all in this together, as the

song goes. And like the wings of the bu"er"y, our every thought and

action will cause a stir in the ma"er of time and space that makes up

the whole.

Divine spirit works through thoughts and actions that come from

a base of love, li$ing our vibrations. Working through fear on the other

hand lowers our vibrations. Each vibration, in turn, ripples across

the universe like a wave across the sea, impacting all of us on a daily

basis.

So, if we can accept that this is the case, we need to ask ourselves

some of the bigger questions about life:

How can we create a world of peace and love, when with every

destructive word, thought and action, we continue to create waves of

negative vibrations to wash over all of us?

How can we !nd a way to accept our shortcomings, our talents,

our failures, our successes, our di#erences, ourselves?

Science tells us that these things can be achieved when a critical

mass of people come to realize the mystery of life - that they are a piece

of the puzzle, perfectly unique and therefore never repeated within the

picture of life. Reaching this critical mass will then allow all others to

come to this realization within a short span of time.

All we need to do, to contribute to the critical mass, is allow love

to work within each piece so that it can achieve its potential and take its

place within the whole.

On a personal level this means we need to listen to our still, inner

voice, deep within our soul, as the voice of love. And we need to live

our lives with positive intentions every step of the way. Every thought,

action and reaction must be consciously !lled with love.

24

Starting each new day with pure intentions, consciously making

a decision to smile, making every sentence spoken express positive

thoughts, ensuring every decision will have a bene!cial outcome for

those involved. We need to do this freely, honestly and with gratitude

for the results this will bring.

And if we happen to slip or trip along the way, we need to be

thankful for how far we’ve come, forgive ourselves and others and

continue con!dently on our way. Then with each step we will notice

the journey become easier and the rewards greater. Abundance will !ll

our professional and personal lives in a myriad of ways and together

we will create a new world!

SHAMANIC SOUL NLP:

PATHWAY TO AN ABUNDANT LIFE

Jon Brenton

M y eyes gazed peacefully across the horizon of Laguna Bay. The

sun was beginning to se"le, transforming the sky with its majestic

hues of pinks, oranges, yellows and blues. In the stillness, the water

lapped gently on the white shores. People passed by holding hands and

romance and love "owed between souls.

An abundant life – a life full of wonderful experiences when you

are guided to live in your spirit. This may mean wonderful adventures

and meaningful experiences in the pure spirit of joy: a day in the

sunshine, talking to friends, a warm cup of tea, a relationship, a home,

being near loved ones, dancing under the moonlight singing, sharing

a story, rolling on the "oor and laughing together and making love,

experiencing new places, or just sharing your thoughts.

Abundance is the connection to your spirit and the way you allow

yourself to love you. You can create a personal partner and friends to

share the joys of life with.

Deep within us all is a hidden magic which you can unlock to

create a wealth of joy and love

Where to Find the Source of Creating Abundance

Within us all is the source of our deepest self-expression. Contacting

this inner spiritual awareness and knowing that you are loved totally

and unconditionally is the key to creating abundance. When your heart

and soul knows this, it can accept the greatest gi$ of who you really

are.

Once you have entered into your inner realization, the magic of

abundance begins. The causal layer of spirit transforms your mental,

emotional, astral/ethereal and physical worlds. You can materialize and

bring abundance into every aspect of your consciousness.

26

The Key to Abundance is a pure heart and pure soul intent on

connecting to the great source of eternal love. I always remind myself

of that beautiful story of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and how

Aladdin with his pure heart was permi"ed to enter the cave where

unlimited treasures were to be found. The mind, Ja!r, could not enter

this inner world. Aladdin entered taking his pet monkey – showing

his sense of playfulness and humor and he gained the knowledge of

how to call upon the genie to grant his wishes to transform his life,

plus how to use the magic carpet to transport him into a di#erent

world.

We can all master this abundant transformation by adopting a

purity of soul intent.

The Great Gi" of an abundant life is ours when we regain eternal

trust in soul love. When your soul is ready, the source chooses you.

The limitations and restricts of the past begin to melt away and new

doorways and possibilities expand into your consciousness.

Over the years in my professional work, many people have asked

me how do you do this and I ask them two questions:

“What do you believe about eternal love? Whether you call it God,

The Source, Enlightenment, Oneness, Nature – it transcends beyond

all religions and cultures.” and I wait and listen to their responses. If

it is a positive answer then I continue.

The second question is, “Have you ever had any death wishes?” I

want to know if they believe they should be alive and on this wonderful

planet and can be loved.

These beliefs can then be aligned to the Spirit of accepting the

great gi$ of Abundant love, help and caring.

Divine States and Soul Experiences

Assisting people on Soul journeys has given me great pleasure. I

watch in wonderment as individual’s experience the realization that

they are truly loved, and all their abundant dreams can come true

from a deeper level than just what the mind and will would create.

27

Souls experience truth, freedom, love, joy, peace, health and

wealth. This is the great gi$ of abundance as it !lters into our everyday

existence.

The di#erence between creating abundance from the Soul is that

it is the deepest form of love we can discover within us.

No need to create using your will, mind and emotions on the

basis of fears which limits your spirit. The need for a"ention, power

and control will enslave your spirit.

The Shamanic Way releases the spirit to live abundantly with the

assistance of the source of love.

Intention and Motivation

If you truly wish to transform into an abundant life, all you need to do

is pay a"ention to your intention and motivation. Are you motivated

by anger, fear, guilt, hurt grief, anxiety, depression etc? It is very easy

to try and control what Abundant Love is or isn’t. Would you like to

!ll your life with a soul heart mate, soul friends and relationships,

your ideal home and place where your soul would love to live, soul

prosperity and abundance? What would your answer be?

Beyond Programming

Do you long to end su#ering and limitation?

Should your soul intention long to change, it is no longer necessary

to analyze and delve into your programs, lessons, your life traumas,

your genealogy or even past lives. You can simply and easily, with

purity of the right intent, dissolve the past into a new awareness and

consciousness of unlimited abundance.

The Shamanic Tradition

Many years ago a girlfriend of mine gave me an American Indian

healing wand – a gi$ of pure intention that many cultures still adopt.

Healing is achieved through purity of intention on the part of the

healer and those wishing to be healed, whether it is for physical,

mental, emotional or spiritual healing.

28

The simplicity of some of the Shamanic methods allows us to

simply and very quickly li$ beyond our minds and wills into our

inner soul world and we can be transported into places of wonder

and abundance where our souls are healed. This transforms our outer

life at the deepest level.

The Gaia

I remember reading about the messages from the Gaia – an ancient

knowledge that I observe operating today – that eventually you will

set yourself free and the soul will return to its source and regain its

balance. All the experiences we have are merely to remind us that we

can’t wander o# alone without love. The Source waits patiently for us

to remember that abundant love is the source of all life.

Maybe you believe in the forces of the nature Spirits – all will

return you to soulful balance.

A Path to Freedom and Abundance

In the East and now in the West I o$en hear the phrase u"ered, “This

is your Karma or su#ering.”

If you long for a pathway to freedom and abundance, then I

urge your soul to purify its intent and begin to connect to the Source

of all Love. Accept the great gi$ of a soul mate, soul friends and

relationships, soul adventures and a home, soul families and groups,

soul prosperity and abundance.

I wish for you to live a soulfully, magically, abundant life.

DISCOVERING LIFE IN ALL ITS FULLNESS

Joanna Penn

K neeling on the shower "oor, I let the hot water rain down on me

as I retched into the drain. My head pounded with yet another

hangover from the excesses of the night before… and I couldn’t

remember how I got home. I work long hours at a highly stressful

job, commute for two hours a day, and use the bar every evening for

therapy. I take ca#eine tablets on the train to work and have regular

panic a"acks on the Underground. I am overweight; miserable at

work, and in my private life and my drinking has become an increasing

problem. I am having memory blanks and I self-medicate with sugar

and painkillers. This is the third working day in a row I am being sick

before 7am.

That was my life – and the day I decided to make a change. I felt

disgusted with myself for becoming this unhappy person who just

worked too hard and drank too much. I felt that I was just existing

and not living a life I wanted. I was burnt out and empty physically,

emotionally and spiritually. I did not recognize myself anymore. This

was not “life in all its fullness.”

I needed to make a change, but it was hard because I had made a

life that centered on my job. My salary paid the bills and I didn’t have

any money saved. My friends consisted of co-workers and I didn’t

know what else I would do for a job. I was desperate to quit my job

and move on, but I just didn’t know how to do it. I had tried to make

changes before, but had always stayed where I was. But this time was

di#erent. I had hit rock bo"om.

I learned then that until you look and analyze your life, you

can’t change your behavior. There needs to be a compelling reason

to change. You also need to acknowledge why you want to change

before you are ready to act. Once you are sure about what you want,

you can change your behavior through action and persistence.

30

It took nine more months, but I did resign my London city job

and head for the Australian Outback. I needed space and silence to

heal myself and become well again. I wanted to feel alive - to be closer

to nature and be away from the city. By then I had some money saved

and just thought I would see what happened.

I arrived in Perth, Western Australia and spent the !rst week

repeating all the behaviors I had lived in London, and crying on

the phone from homesickness. Then I learned to scuba dive and I

discovered a di#erent world.

The experience of learning to dive took me out of my comfort

zone and into nature in its most elemental form. I had to learn to

breathe again, to move di#erently, to use my body and relax. I was

truly out of my element, but underwater was an abundance of life I

had never experienced before.

I travelled for three months through Western Australia, scuba

diving on the coast and driving through the desert and bush. I got

back to the important basics in life and met people who lived a totally

di#erent life to the big city.

One day hiking with a group of fellow travelers, I found myself

alone in the bush at the top of a waterfall. The area is sacred to the

Aboriginal people and I could feel the spiritual energy of the rushing

waters. I looked out across the gum trees and red earth and felt an

incredible peace. I !nally felt this was me - that I had shed the fake

person I had become in the city. I built a li"le pile of rocks at the top

of the waterfall and poured water from my bo"le over it. Fresh water

is precious in the outback and I felt it was the most important thing

that I could o#er right then. As I poured the water out, I said thank

you to the Universe for the experience and the abundance of nature

that I was part of, and for how my life would change. That night we

made camp at a remote outback sheep station. There was a very basic

shower in a tin shack, but a$er four days away I was covered in red

outback dust and grateful that there was a shower, no ma"er how

rudimentary it was. As I stood under the hot water, I thought, “This

31

is how a shower should really feel.” I was no longer retching and full

of despair. Instead I was invigorated and alive. I washed myself clean

and laughed at how far I had come.

Eventually I was ready to come back to the city and start my

career again. I realized that it was not the city that was the problem.

It was not my job, my boss, or the industry I worked in. The problem

was the way I dealt with all of these things, the way I had shaped my

life around my job and had let other priorities slide. I had neglected

my body, my spirit and emotional life, and devoted all my energy

into work for someone else. You get what you focus on and I got a life

!lled only with work.

During my time in the outback, I had thought about how I wanted

to live my life and what I wanted to do for work. I realized I wanted

to contribute to society and make a di#erence in people’s lives, and

wanted to feel useful plus have a ful!lling career. Most people feel

the same way. They want to work - just not at jobs that are soul-

destroying. The problem comes when the job they work at solely for

the paycheck doesn’t !t with who they are as people and doesn’t o#er

growth, challenge and development.

We want to love what we do every day, but many people detest

their jobs and don’t know how to change the situation. So o$en

people are held back by a limited view of their capabilities and the

possibilities of what work they can do. They are trapped, as I was, by

money, responsibilities, expectations, and by not knowing what to do

instead. My experience showed me that you can change your life for

the be"er.

When I came back to the city, I decided to shape my future career

and aim for what I wanted to achieve with my life. It has been a zigzag

path, but I am now a freelance consultant and author, helping other

people to change their working lives. I have used my own journey to

develop paths for others.

I know you have the power to change your work situation and

in doing so, improve your whole life. The most important thing is to

32

take responsibility for your life, right now, and take the !rst steps in

a new direction. Whether this is a small change, or a big step into a

life-changing decision, start now because life is too short to not enjoy

what you do!

VENTURING FURTHER INTO THE UNKNOWN

Cherry Maclean

V enturing further into the unknown, making hard decisions and

leaving parts of my life behind is sometimes scary, sad and

di!cult. With some changes I feel reluctant and unsure of myself, while

some are exhilarating and change how I feel within. Some changes

haven’t necessarily brought the results that I’d expected, with plenty of

surprises along the way. Successful people know, “If you’re not ge"ing

the results that you want, you have to change what you are doing.”

Many big changes disguise themselves as just a li"le change at

the start, but some of the li"le changes that you make will amazingly

become the big ones that will take you where you need to go. When

these changes become big, they can cause you to crash into a big solid

concrete wall with a thump. I think the wall is made of extremely hard

structural cement, not like so$er mortar, but this will be one of the

best things to challenge you and be the place where you most need to

persist!

A seemingly li"le change I made, was to look a$er my health be"er.

I joined a few friends and shared the cost of a personal trainer. I was

open and prepared to try whatever I was asked. During my twenties I

had some health issues and found jogging a problem. Now in my forties,

I’m realizing how di#erent my body is and I’m now able to easily jog.

As a result I’m thinking di#erently and considering di#erent activities I

hadn’t even remotely considered throughout the past 20 years. Pursuing

be"er health and !tness with the exercise group appeared to be a small

change, but is becoming a much bigger change.

I’m continuing to make many changes in my life. Sometimes I feel

like a computer when I hit the concrete wall - I regularly reboot and pull

myself back on track. Occasionally, I need to take time out to do things

I enjoy, forget about the rest of my life for a while and stop thinking

so much. Then reassess what I’m doing and sometimes make further

34

decisions and changes to keep moving forward. I’ll then get back on the

horse and get going again.

When you persist regardless of the obstacles, this is when the big

changes really happen. When you hit the concrete wall, this will be the

challenge that needs the most a"ention to get where you need to go.

These tough times can be when the most learning happens and you

develop so much deeper as a person. These changes aren’t necessarily

instant and it can seem like they’re taking forever, particularly the most

important, fundamental changes deep within.

Try making some changes in the way you do things, what you do

and when. It may not even make a lot of sense, but then you might just

surprise yourself with how di#erent you feel. You will react di#erently

in various circumstances and will even be able to do things you had

never thought of yourself doing. Finding your real passion may happen

in the process. Wouldn’t it be great to be doing something that makes

you eager to get out of bed everyday? You may be chasing !nancial

abundance and discover the best most satisfying abundance of all - a

ful!lling life with deep inner happiness.

One of the biggest changes that I’ve made is to reduce the amount

of alcohol that I drink. The authorities tell us that it’s okay to drink a

certain amount, but I think they’re only looking at recommendations

that stop drinking from becoming a noticeable problem. I know it’s a

problem when it a#ects your life and those around you, but the problem

is that it’s almost impossible to recognize at the time this is actually

happening. As a woman, becoming pregnant is an extremely sobering

event, but a$er being a regular drinking partner with my husband,

going cold was tough. I felt the cravings throughout most days. This

continued for a very long 3 months and less o$en for much longer.

When I became pregnant, I also le$ an isolated mining town, an

area where the alcohol consumption is one of the highest in the country

and is a very normal part of the culture. Living away for extended

periods helped, the drinking wasn’t happening in front of me as much,

the wine wasn’t in the cupboard with the groceries and my husband

35

wasn’t drinking in front of me. My husband is a wonderful host, it’s

natural for him to regularly o#er to pour me a drink, serve food etc. The

liquor store also wasn’t right next to the healthy fruit and vegetables

inside the supermarket. All of these situations make it very easy for

alcohol to be such an important part of life.

Living apart from my husband for extended periods has meant that

sometimes he’d "y out of the mining town to spend time with us and

we’d "y back to the mining town to spend time with him. Each time the

drinking is a very important part of a classy social life. When the kids

and I "ew out of town each time, I felt like I was "ying away to dry out.

I had to go through the withdrawal, cravings and emotional trauma of

trying to get through di!cult days without feeling like having a drink

in the evening.

I try not to drive around near the end of the day when I’m tired and

worn out, as it’s so easy to use the drive through at the liquor store. I

tell myself I don’t have to !nish a glass of wine and o$en throw out le$

over wine down the sink in the mornings. This makes it easier in the

evenings, when it’s very normal to have less will power.

A$er the longest time without drinking at all, I discovered that

I was able to make be"er decisions. I had much more clarity to !nd

solutions to some issues that I had previously been struggling with.

Like the classic song “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash. I could

see the blue sky much more clearly and the decisions that I needed to

make. I could also recognize more of the obstacles that I needed to get

past.

Finding that I could think more clearly was at times like a light bulb

turning on. A few of these light bulb moments even made me feel a li"le

embarrassed, as I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t thought of what where

sometimes very simple solutions to very simple problems. To anyone

else and even to myself at the time, it seemed that most of my decisions

where very good ones, as I’ve done very well in many areas, but the

light bulb moments taught me that I could have had more clarity and

been doing even be"er.

36

It’s amazing how capable our mind and body is of some very big

changes. It’s also very empowering to discover new possibilities and

di#erent things mentally and physically that you can achieve and feel

di#erent towards. The journey to inner abundance and a ful!lling and

meaningful life will take you places you may have never dreamed

possible.

ABUNDANCE OF HAPPINESS

Sharon Tregoning

I don’t want to get out of bed. I don’t want to do anything. I don’t

want to see or talk to anyone who knows me – they’ll know there’s

something wrong. How I hate that the whole world knows what I am

feeling at any particular moment! I just want to stay in bed and sleep,

and cry, and sleep, and cry. I just want to be wrapped in my husband’s

arms – that’s the only place that feels okay.

That’s what my world used to be like as my world was ruled by

depression. I wasn’t really functioning as a mother to my beautiful

daughter and my wonderful husband Reid picked up all the slack – and

there was a lot of slack to pick up. At the time, we were self-employed,

running a successful bed and breakfast in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. If I

had to, I could bring myself to deal with customers – strangers were

okay as they didn’t know what I’m like normally.

I have ba"led depression in various forms since puberty, including

post-natal depression and have tried numerous means to overcome

it – books, counseling, meditation and medication (which I saw as a

copout, a failure) but I was able to acknowledge that I needed that

assistance. Nothing I tried solved the problem for any length of time, or

for that ma"er made me feel that I really was okay. But now, all of that

has changed. Now I don’t just exist, I live my life with an abundance

of happiness.

I was "icking through the TV channels one day and caught the

end of Oprah. In this show she had been talking about The Secret. I

didn’t get to see too much so I started sur!ng the web. The information

that I found caught my interest, so I ordered a copy of the DVD. When

it arrived a few days later, Reid and I sat down together to watch it and

we were blown away. This Law of A"raction; it seemed so simple, but

so logical. I had been brought up in a Christian environment and while

38

I no longer believed what I once used to, I still believed that there are

other forces/entities at work in our world.

While watching the DVD, I particularly liked Jack Can!eld – co-

creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. So, it was back to the web

to do some more sur!ng and research. I came across a book Jack had

wri"en called The Success Principles – How To Get From Where You Are To

Where You Want To Be. I thought that this sounded exactly like what I

needed, so another purchase.

This book arrived a few days later and WOW, to say that reading

this book and then what followed was life changing would be an

understatement. The !rst chapter is about taking 100% responsibility

for your life in all things. I have always been big on accepting

responsibility, so this resonated well with me. I started telling Reid

about how wonderful this book was and very quickly we had to buy

another copy as we both wanted to read the book at the same time.

Brie"y, the book covers !nding out why you are here, believing in

yourself, challenging limiting beliefs, continually improving yourself,

developing an a"itude of gratitude and !nding ways to serve.

My world changed immediately. I was able to see that I was the

creator of my world and that my a"itude was my responsibility. I chose

to cease taking my anti-depressant medication, in spite of my doctor’s

concerns.

Now, before I go further, I have to say that this was what was right

for me. I am not advocating it as the solution for everyone who has

depression, but it may be of assistance to some. Some may also feel that

if I was able to start managing my depression that easily, then possibly

I didn’t really have depression at all. They are entitled to that opinion,

but I know that what I had was depression and it was con!rmed by

medical diagnosis.

I started to change how I thought about things – the glass went

from being half empty to half full. I became more optimistic about

things. Another big change was how I interacted with people – in

particular my sister Bess (Liz to the rest of the world). We had been on

39

di#erent journeys in our lives and Bess had recently been advised that

her breast cancer was terminal.

Bess had started her own spiritual journey a few years prior and

while not pleased that she would be leaving this earth and would miss

things like grandchildren, she had made her peace with her fate. She

was very particular about people saying she was “ba"ling cancer.” She

preferred to say that she was “living with cancer” – a big di#erence in

her eyes.

I had been struggling with wanting to spend time with her while

I could, but at the same time if that was not what she wanted, then I

wouldn’t make it a big issue.

I asked Bess how I could assist her by using this Law of A"raction

to manifest what she wanted – and that changed everything. Bess

stated that in that moment I was completely honoring her and our

relationship changed to one that in time became the most honest,

nurturing, unconditionally loving relationship that I have ever known.

She passed in February 2008 and I desperately miss her physical

presence.

Reid and I were so taken with Jack’s book that we decided to

undertake his week long course in America, called Breakthrough to

Success. Again, life changing. It sounds so cliché, but that’s exactly

what it was. It was also challenging emotionally, but because I allowed

myself to participate, I was rewarded with the learning’s.

These days I am empowered to be whom I want to be – though

it is a progressive journey and some days are be"er than others. I am

striving towards my dreams and goals with a contented, peaceful

knowingness that I am more than okay as I am and that I will achieve

all that I plan. I am conscious of when I am slipping back into my

depressive ways and I now have the tools to combat that.

My happiness manifests itself in numerous ways. I have the most

wonderful husband and marriage imaginable, my relationship with

my daughter is improving, we are living where we want to live and are

building a business that will enable us to assist others to learn what we

have. There is always enough money to do what we want, even if we

are not sure from where it is coming.

Each night I express gratitude to the universe for 5 things that

have happened during the day, and I know that the universe sends

people and opportunities my way to enable my plans and dreams to

become reality. I also now have the most wonderful network of genuine

friends.

I am so thankful for all that I have learned, but I am mostly thankful

for now having an abundance of happiness.

ASK… BELIEVE… RECEIVE

Edith Duncan

A s a young child, I believed that my thoughts created my reality.

No-one around me had any idea what I meant when I tried to

explain this concept, this belief, this knowing. I let go of it at about

seven or eight years of age, sure that I must have been wrong.

Soon I had forgo"en the ‘Think and it is so’ idea. With that belief

gone, I thought that this existence is all there is to life. I became a bit

disillusioned and a bit of a ‘What’s the point of it all?’ crept in to my life.

Life was OK but not great, not the adventure, not the fun it had been

before when dreaming was part of what I did.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing. A li"le bit of knowledge can lead

to a clearer understanding of something already known; can lead to

creative ideas as two planes of thought collide; can lead to knowledge

in totally new areas; and can lead to previous knowledge remembered

and perhaps cl
