iPhone/iPod touch ActiveSync Requirements iPhone OS 2.0 or later is required to use Exchange ActiveSync. You can find your OS version by going to Settings > General > About and look for Version. If you do not have Version 2.0 or later iPhone users can upgrade for free and iPod Touch users can upgrade for a small fee. iPhone users can get more information on current iPhone OS updates and how to apply them at http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/. iPod Touch users can get more information at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2052. Configure Exchange Active Sync • Automatic Configuration Using Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch, browse to this page and click this link to automatically set up Exchange ActiveSync. Otherwise, follow the instructions below to manually set up Exchange ActiveSync. • Manual Configuration 1. Select Settings from Home screen. 2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Select Add Account. 4. Select Microsoft Exchange. 5. Enter Email address: <netid>@bishopg.ac.uk 6. Enter Domain: bgc 7. Enter your NetID as the Username. 8. Enter Password. 9. Click Next. 10. A Server Address field will appear. Enter: MyMail.bishopg.ac.uk 11. Click Next. 12. Select items you wish to synchronize. Warning: contacts and calendar on the device will be removed upon synchronizing with Exchange. 13. Click Save. Optional Settings 1. Select Settings from the Home screen. 2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Under Mail select desired number of messages to display. 4. Scroll down to set signature. 5. Scroll down to contacts to change sort order and display order. 6. Scroll down to calendar to set how far back to sync. Two weeks or one month are recommended. 7. Scroll to top of screen. 8. Under Accounts section select firstname.lastname@example.org 9. Select desired options to sync on Exchange ActiveSync tab. 10. Select desired mail days to sync. (default is 3 days) ActiveSync Remove Exchange ActiveSync • Automatic Removal 1. Select Settings from the Home screen. 2. Select General. 3. Scroll down and select Profile (BG Exchange Profile). 4. Click the Remove button. 5. Click Remove again when prompted. • Manual Removal 1. Select Settings from the Home screen. 2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Select the ITS Exchange Server account. 4. Click the Delete Account button at the bottom of the screen. 5. Click Delete Account again when prompted.
