Desktop Faxing Provides Green Option for Remote Workforce

March 16, 2010 08:43 AM Eastern Daylight Time

NORCROSS, Ga.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--EasyLink Services International Corporation ("EasyLink" or
"Company") (NasdaqCM: ESIC, www.easylink.com), a premier global provider of comprehensive messaging
services and e-commerce solutions, announced today that Varian Medical Systems has selected EasyLink as its
provider for hosted fax services for an initial three-year term.

Varian Medical Systems develops leading solutions for advancing cancer treatment, radiosurgery, X-ray imaging,
and security in medical, scientific, and industrial applications. To meet the messaging and productivity needs of its
large remote workforce, Varian Medical Systems offers on-demand desktop faxing as a secure, paperless option.

In an initiative to further improve its fax service quality and reduce costs, Varian Medical Systems migrated to
EasyLink Services’ Desktop Messaging solution. With EasyLink Desktop Messaging, Varian Medical Systems’
mobile users have the ability to send and receive faxes via e-mail from any web-enabled device. In addition, Varian’s
telecommuters can opt to use the desktop fax service in place of purchasing fax machines and installing phone lines.

“Varian Medical recognizes the benefits of outsourced fax from both a productivity and a sustainability perspective,”
said Kevin Maloney, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing of EasyLink Services. “EasyLink’s SaaS
approach to fax will provide Varian Medical Systems increased efficiency by reducing capital and operational
expenses while scaling to meet the company’s evolving business needs.”

“Varian Medical Systems is focused on continually finding ways to reduce operational costs, improve the end-user
experience and create a dynamic business environment,” explained Jessica Denecour, Vice President and Chief
Information Officer, Varian Medical Systems. “EasyLink Desktop Messaging offers a secure and economical option
to alternative faxing methods that increases productivity and reduces environmental impact – a win-win for any
organization.”
