Many of our teaching staff complement their academic training with previous corporate experience. Our lively campus is just 19 miles west of central London and provides an ideal environment for university study. 2 Programme Structure The Royal Holloway MBA programme has been designed on a modular basis. Within the programme, each course consists of a concentrated period of study covering two 2.5 day blocks. Each week you will intensively study two different courses allowing you the time required to tackle each course in depth. It is a challenging and contemporary programme containing 16 compulsory courses, comprising 12 Core courses and 4 Elective courses. Past speakers have included: • Chief Operating Officer, Cap Gemini • Senior Director, Commercial Sales, EMEA, Microsoft • Global Strategy Director, Deutsche Post/DHL Logistics • Director Heathrow, British Airways PLC • Director, Bank of New York Mellon • Global Head of IT, HSBC Career Development The School of Management has an MBA Careers Advisor dedicated to maximising the leverage that the Royal Holloway MBA or MSc gives you. This careers service includes: • Individual career coaching tailored to your needs • CV/resumé clinic • Targeted careers seminars • Careers Forum – a face-to-face meeting where both MBA employers and MBA alumni offer advice on employment and career progression 6 Assessment During the Autumn and Spring Terms you will be assessed by examination (three hours long) on the Core courses you have studied that term. You will also be regularly assessed through in-course projects, conducted as individual or group assignments. These are usually in the form of essays or presentations. The dissertation is a 12,000 word assignment carried out during the summer. Admissions The Royal Holloway MBA begins in September each year. Applications are normally submitted by May. However, applications may be accepted after this time if places are still available. Entry requirements: • Minimum three years work experience • GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test): 550 (minimum). Details regarding the GMAT can be found at www.mba.com/mba • An undergraduate degree (first or second class honours) or a degree-equivalent professional qualification English Language Requirements Confirmation of English language proficiency is required for students whose first language is not English. Evidence of such proficiency should include one of the following: • IELTS 6.5 overall with 7 in writing • TOEFL score of 570 (paper based test); 230 (computer based test) • Evidence that your undergraduate degree was taught in English If your level of English is slightly under the requirements above, you can apply to take the Pre-sessional English Language Programme of either four weeks or eight weeks.
