How to Avoid Cancer
There are many choices that you make that affect your chances of getting cancer. There was a scientific study done with 500,000 people that showed
that eating meat (dead animals) increased your chances of getting cancer. Though avoiding meat is not a cancer cure. Meat and other animal
products have no fiber. Eating fiber decreases your chances of getting cancer and cardiovascular problems like heart attacks and strokes. All plant
foods have fiber. Fiber does not cure anything but prevents many health problems.
Plant foods have thousands of phytochemicals that provide health benefits. They have already identified over 900 of them. For example tomatoes
have lycopene (also in watermelon, red grapefruit and some other red foods) that prevents cancer and prevents cardiovascular problems. It is also
good for general health. There is resveratrol in grapes that is bad for cancer and good for cardiovascular health.
The sulfurophane in broccoli sprouts is a powerful cancer fighter or cancer preventative. It is easier to prevent cancer than to cure it. John Hopkins
Medical School has bred broccoli sprouts that are extra high in sulfurophane and got a patent on them. Sulfurophane is a powerful cancer fighter, but
not quite a cure for cancer. They are sold in many supermarkets. Remember Ben Franklin says "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Studies show that exercise prevents cancer. But watch out for side effects of exercise. It can help you live longer and is good for general health.
Exercise can prevent cardiovascular problems and help with depression. Lots of younger people exercise to prevent being overweight. But your
chances of developing cancer and cardiovascular problems get higher as you get older and they are more deadly than being overweight. Bodybuidling
exercises can build muscle and reduce fat and that reduces your chances of getting cancer and that is better than than a cure. Being overweight
greatly increases your chances of getting cancer.
Have you heard yet that all of that information about sunlight causing cancer was wrong? Actually it did get a lot of people to waste their money on
sunblock and then buy dyes to make their skin darker. Since sunlight can create vitamin D, the above increased your chances of getting cancer. Many
people live too far north to get enough vitamin D from sunlight. They can get it from vitamin D supplements. Watch this 29 minute video
( http://vit-d.notlong.com ) that sums up the research of over 100 scientists on vitamin D preventing cancer and other diseases based on a meeting
sponsored by the NCI (National Cancer Institute). Enough vitamin D can cut your chances of getting breast cancer by 70% and that is better than a
cure for cancer. Note that too little of it will not help. That video suggests that people get lifeguard levels of vitamin D.
