					                  SHIP’S ROUTING SYSTEM OF QINGDAO WATER AREA

IMPLEMENTED ON 01ST APRIL 2007 AS FOLLOWS:

   The ships routing system in Qingdao water area (Reference charts: Chinese charts
12339,12351,30501,30502).

    The ships routing system in Qingdao water area consistes of the traffic separation schemes, the
precautionary areas and the inshore traffic zones.

    1. The traffic separation schem
         The traffic separation scheme consists of the separation lines, the boundaries and the
         traffic lanes.
    1.1 The No.1 traffic separation scheme
    1.1.1 The separation line
          The separation line of the No.1 traffic separation scheme is the line connecting the follow
    two points:
          36/01/51.3n, 120/16/59.9e           36/01/27.2n,120/19/11.6e
    1.1.2 The boudaries
          The north boundary of the first traffic separation scheme is the line connecting the
following two points:
          36/02/10.1n,120/16/57.0e             36/01/46.6n,120/19/17.0e
          The south boundary line of the first separation scheme is the line connecting the follow
two points:
          36/01/32.2n,120/17/03e              36/01/07.6n,120/19/06.1e
    1.1.3The traffic lanes
      The traffic lane for vessel entering port, which is 0.3 miles wide at its western part and 0.33
miles at eastern, and 1.89 miles long along its center line, is established between the separation
line and the north boundary of the traffic separation scheme, with the main traffic direction in this
lane set at 282deg11min00sec(T).
      The traffic lane for outbound vessels which is 0.3 miles wide on its west side, 0.33 miles
wide on its east side, and 1.77 miles long its center line, is established between the separation line
and south boundary of the traffic separation scheme, with the main traffic direction in this lane set
at 103deg15min00sc (T).

    1.2 The No.2 traffic separation scheme
    1.2.1 The separation line (36/01/14n,120/20/23.6e and 36/00/30.1n,120/24/22.2e)
    1.2.2 The boundaries
             North boundary line ( 36/01/34.5n,120/20/29.3e and 36/00/54.5n,120/24/28.4e)
             South boundary line ( 36/00/53.3n,120/20/17.9e and 36/00/05.8n,120/24/16.0e )
    1.2.3 The traffic lanes
       The traffic lane for vessels entering port, which is 0.35 miles wide at its west end, 0.41
    miles wide on its east side, and 3.3 miles long along its center line, is established between the
    separation zone and the north boundary of the traffic separation scheme, with the main traffic
direction in this set at 282deg11min11sec (T).
   The traffic lane for vessels leaving port, which is 0.35 miles wide on its west side, 0.41
miles wide on its east side, and 3.3 miles long along its center line, is established between the
separation zone and the north boundary of the traffic separation scheme, with the main traffic
direction in this lane set at 103deg15min00sec (T).

1.3 The No.3 traffic separation scheme
1.3.1 The separation line ( 36/00/03.7n,120/26/46.4e and 35/59/17.5n,120/30/57.4e)
1.3.2 The boundaries
         North boundary line ( 36/00/30.1n,120/26/53.1e and 35/59/47.7n,120/31/05.8e)
         South boundary line ( 35/59/37.2n,120/26/39.7e and 35/58/47.5n,120/30/49.0e)
1.3.3 The traffic lanes
    The traffic lane for vessel entering port, which is 0.45 miles wide on its west side, 0.51
mils wide on its east side, and 3.48 miles long along its center line, is established between the
separation zone and north boundary of the traffic separation scheme, with the main traffic
direction set at 282deg11min00sec (T).
    The traffic lane for vessels leaving port, which is 0.45 mile wide on its west side, 0.51
miles wide on its east side, and 3.48 miles long along its center line, is established between the
separation zone and the south direction set at 103deg15min009sec (T).

2. The precautionary area
2.1 The No.1 precautionary area
    The No.1 precautionary area is the circular area centered at (36/01/47.5n,120/16/22.8e)
    with radius of 0.6 miles, adjoining the first traffic separation scheme. A dummy navigation
    mark is located at (36/01/55.0n,120/16/39.9e) in the first precautionary area.
2.2 The No.2 precaution area is the rectangular area with the four corner points listed below:
(36/01/46.6n,120/19/17.0e),       (36/01/07.6n,120/19/06.1e),          (36/00/53.3n,120/20/17.9e),
(36/01/34.5n,120/20/29.3e).
This precautionary area is 1.00 mile long along its center line, 0.66 mile wide along its south
side, and 0.70 mile wide along its north side.
2.3 The No.3 precautionary area
    The No.3 precautionary area is the rectangular area with the four corner points listed
    below:               (36/00/54.4n,120/24/28.4e),                   (36/00/05.8n,120/24/16.0e),
    (35/59/37.2n,120/26/39.7e), (36/00/30.1n,120/26/53.1e).
    This precaution area is 2.00 mile long along its center line 0.82 mile wide along its south
    side, and 0.90 mile wide along its north side.

3. The inshore traffic zone
3.1 The north inshore traffic zone
The north inshore traffic zone is the area enclosed by the lines connecting Tuandao Zui
promontory (36/02/38n,120/16/52n), the north west corner point of the No.1 traffic east corner
point of the No.1 traffic separation scheme (36/02/10.1n,120/16/57.0e), the north east corner
point of the no.1 traffic separation scheme ( 36/01/46.6n,120/19/17.0e), Huiquan jiao headland
(36/02/38n,120/20/05e) and the shore line between Tuandao Zui promontory and Huiquan Jiao
headland.
3.2 The south inshore traffic zone
The south in shore traffic zone is the area enclosed by the lines connection the Jiaozishi Zui
promontory ( 36/00/58n,120/17/08e), the south west corner point of the No.1 traffic separation
scheme (36/01/32.2n,120/17/03.0e), the south east corner point of the No.1 traffic separation
scheme (36/01/07.6n,120/19/06.1e), the Xiang Zui promontory (36/00/40n,120/18/20e) and
the shore line between the Jiaozishi Zui promontory and Xiang Zui promontory.

4. Special regulation
4.1 Vessels entering the first TSS ( traffic separation scheme) from north of dummy
    navigation mark in the No.1 precautionary area and vessels leaving the first TSS from
    south of dummy navigation mark in the No.1 precautionary area must pass by the west of
    dummy navigation mark, and navigate with caution.
4.2 Vessels within TSS of QINGDAO waters should maintain VHF watch on channel 08
4.3 Vessel with draft of 15m or below, should embark and disembark pilots in the No.2
    precautionary area.
4.4 Vessels with LOA of 50m or above should navigate in the TSS only, others may
    navigation in the navigable water out of TSS.
4.5 Vessels navigating in the No.1 TSS should not exceed the speed of 10 knots
4.6 Overtaking is prohibited in the No.1 TSS.
4.7 Vessels within this TSS should not cross the separation lines, if it is necessary to do so,
    should report to QINGDAO VTS before and cross the separation lines under permission.
4.8 Anchoring trawling and breeding aquatics are prohibited in the precautionary area, TSS,
    as well as the water at the ends of TSS. Other operations in the TSS waters should be
    carried out with the permission from appropriate authorities.
4.9 Vessel in this TSS are not exempted from the responsibilities and obligations stipulated
    in COLREG 1972.
4.10 Any vessel and related persons violating the regulations of this TSS should be dealt with
    by competent authority according to appropriate laws and regulations.
4.11 The TSS of TUAN DAO KOU is abolished on the date this new TSS taking effiect.
