The Program
• • • • • • • • 48 Hour – no residency requirement. 30 Hours of Required Coursework 18 Hours of Electives Courses taught in 10 week terms Currently offering 5-6 courses per term Course Enrollments from 10 to 60 students. Identical Requirements to Campus Program Same curriculum, same faculty

Current Enrollment Characteristics
• Campus Program – 133 students, average GMAT 610. • Distance program – 110 students, average GMAT 627. Credit hours registered for in winter term – 540 (four terms per year). • Now capping enrollment at 40 students per course. • Expect to offer multiple sections of core courses starting in fall.

How we develop courses
• Professional course developer located in CBA co-sponsored with the UNL Division of Distance Education • Faculty are content providers • Faculty determine course characteristics • Common course look • Common program expectations • Course maintenance by faculty and developer.

Course Content
• Comprehensive syllabus with learning objectives, schedule and types of assignment and interaction • Narrated PowerPoint slides • Video Tutorials • Readings and homework • Class interaction – discussion board, conference calls/video conferencing

Econ and Finance Courses
• Ten modules (one per week) • Assigned textbook with weekly chapter readings • Narrated PowerPoint lectures for each module • Practice problems with solutions for each module • Weekly multiple choice practice quiz

Econ and Finance Continued
• Sample homework problem for each module • Required homework problem for each module – voluntary teams • Weekly video conference/conference call • Midterm – Module 5, Final – Module 10 • Exams – open book, open note, timed. Available for four days.

Econ and Finance III
• Weekly discussion board for posting of questions on materials or homework • Links for help with technical material • Video tutorials for some modules • All homework graded within two days so available for video conference • Exams a mix of multiple choice and problems – going more towards problems built into a multiple choice format.

How we Assess
• Required zero credit hour assessment course in the final term of the program. • Semester meetings of the teaching faculty and staff. • MBA Director has access to course materials and evaluations. Faculty pay is similar to summer sessions and director has ability to replace faculty.

How we assess - continued
• Annual Faculty MBA Distance Teaching Award – chosen by students enrolled in courses in the past year. • Comprehensive Course Evaluation in every course that addresses almost every aspect of the distance delivery format.
