					Hall Place Enterprise Centre
Hall Place
A manor house known as the Manor of Hall has stood on this site since
Elizabethan times, if not earlier. In the 16th century the owners were the
Beverley family who moved on to Fordwich and combined the manors of Hall
and Beverley into a large estate. In the 19th and early 20th centuries the
Peckham family owned the building and later it was occupied by Canterbury
Printers for 20 to 30 years. In the early 1990’s Wiltshiers Ltd moved in until
the purchase and renovation by Christ Church in 2003/4.

Until the construction of the Harbledown by-pass in 1976, Hall Place was
accessed from Harbledown village via a long driveway past lawns and
woodland. The current building incorporates architectural features from a
variety of eras including moulded Tudor oak beams, a fine fireplace
incorporating the date 1576, intricate plasterwork and a magnificent set of
Victorian banisters.
Hall Place is home to Canterbury Christ Church University’s Training Rooms
Enterprise Centre and is the hub for knowledge exchange
between the University and the business community in
