                                   DRY SHAKE FLOORS
NB: This advice is given for general use and will not be applicable in every
circumstance. The flooring applicator/installer or hardener manufacturer should be
consulted for job specific recommendations
Loose dust/dirt Properly finished dry-shake floors with a curing membrane correctly applied
will not dust. However, dust will settle on the floor from other sources (e.g.
dusty beams above, blown from outside, brought in on goods etc). Thus, to
maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment, proper management is
required including suitable cleaning/vacuum removal and dust control systems.

Routine manual/mechanical sweeping should be carried out as required.
Regular washing with a suitable washer/drier machine (e.g. Wetroc) should be
carried out using a low foam neutral detergent (e.g. Johnson “Stride 1000”).

Note: Abrasive pad cleaning is often more effective than the use of brushes,
however care should be taken by the operator to raise pads or brushes off the
floor when stationary, since permanent ring marks may result when the
machine stops in one position. Do not use pads more abrasive than ‘red’,
unless specifically advised by the manufacturer of the hardener / dry-shake.
First Clean When cleaning the floor for the first time, or if it has allowed to become very
dirty, apply detergent using scrubber, but turn off vacuum. Allow the detergent
to ‘stand’ on the floor for 5-10 minutes before vacuuming off. This will allow the
detergent time to ‘lift’ the dirt off the floor. Repeat as necessary.

Tyre Marks Scrape the surface to remove mechanically the build up of rubber. Then clean
using “Beep Heavy Duty Degreaser”. Note: Always dilute “Beep Heavy Duty
Degreaser” with 20 parts of water and rinse immediately after use.

Oil and Grease Spills For safety and other reasons, clean up spills of oils and grease without delay
by physical removal of surplus and then clean using Johnson “Stride 2000”.

Chemical Spills Aggressive chemicals such as battery acid, coke, vinegar, wine etc., must be
                         removed, cleaned and rinsed immediately.

Polishing Polishing is not normally required. If a polishing sealing system is preferred
(due to excessive spillages), Monofloor recommend the Johnson “Carefree”
                         system.

Safety Areas being cleaned or degreased should be thoroughly rinsed with clean
water afterwards and cordoned off with temporary barriers during cleaning and
rinsing until the floor is dry.

Line/Aisle Painting Consult curing or hardener manufacturer for compatible products.
