									                        Online Business Resources

For the business student, there are a wide variety of online resources
available, both through the LVHS Library web site and through the Loudoun
County Public Library (LCPL) web site. The LVHS Library has a brochure
listing the userid’s and passwords necessary to access our databases from
home. Using the Public Library’s resources requires the number on the
patron’s library card. Below is a listing of these resources. (NOTE: The

I. InfoTrac (LVHS Home Page > Library Resources > Online Databases)

      A. Business & Company Resource Center - offers dynamic,
accurate, and up-to-date topical business information and company and
industry intelligence on thousands of global companies. The Business &
Company Resource Center provides business, company, and industry
content in the following areas: Periodical articles, news articles, and press
releases; detailed information for domestic and international companies and
associations, including information on corporate hierarchical structures;
company financials and earning estimates; investment reports; corporate
chronologies and company histories; brands and product information;
industry and company rankings; market Share data; industry Overviews; HR

II. NewsBank also offers business resources:
        Business NewsBank (1993-Current)
        News articles cover companies, industries, executives, and products including current information
        on hard-to-research small companies. Sources: U.S. local, regional, and national newspapers;
        newswires; and business journals.



III. The Loudoun County Public Library (www.co.loudoun.va.us/lcpl/)
offers some additional business resources, as follows:

        A. Investext: Reports and forecasts prepared by financial analysts. More than 11,000 U.S. and
international companies and 53 industries are covered. This database is found as a choice on the
Infotrac site. To access from your home or office, enter your LCPL library card barcode number (with

         B. Morningstar Online: Comprehensive Morningstar reports on stocks and mutual funds and
exclusive Morningstar ratings to help guide investors. Morningstar online gives patrons access to
analysts' independent opinions and recommendations on investments and allows patrons to assemble

        C. Reference USA: Provides realtime access to a database of 10.5 million businesses. Search
by company name, type of business, geographical area, SIC code to name a few. Gives corporate

       D. Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage: Obtain Standard & Poor's Stock Reports and Industry

       E. Wall Street Journal: Free full text access to articles dating back to 1986. This database is

        F. Wall Street Journal Historical: The Historical Wall Street Journal is a full-image archive that
brings you the full historical run of The Wall Street Journal, the business newspaper of record. It offers
complete coverage from 1889-1987. This database is found as a choice on the Proquest site. To
