State law requires that all assembly buildings comply with current Life Safety Codes and Handicap Access Codes. State law also requires that assembly buildings with a span greater than 24 feet or more than 5,000 square feet of enclosed space have a str ucture designed and sealed by a registered structural engineer and that all assembly buildings costing in excess of $100,000 or seating 50 or more persons be designed and sealed by a registered architect.
