I have a solution. I did this myself several years ago. Take all your credit cards and chop them up. Send them back to the company by certified mail (with return receipt). Include a letter telling them to close your account immediately, and to never contact you again. If you owe money on the card, enclose full payment at the same time. Once they are all closed, NEVER − EVER use a credit card again.
Good advice. Of course, if he actually had the money to pay his credit cards off in full, he wouldn't give a damn about the interest rate because he wouldn't be paying any.
You do have a point and I agree, but at the same time, those CC companies try their hardest to make a person pay interest. I had a few disputes when I had cards, because I'd send in my payment ON TIME, and the next time I'd get a bill, I'd find a interest and a late charge, yet I knew darn well they got my payment. I'd call them and fight with them and eventually win, but I didn't want the hassle, and really never cared to deal with companies like them. They proved what assholes they are when I was seriously injured and simply too sick to even think of my CC bill. It took them about 2 week to send me a notice my interest was nearly doubled, plus late fees and all of that. That's when I paid off my balance and as soon as I felt better I chopped up all the cards. At first it was kind of touggh getting used to it, because I used them for all those smallish things like gas for the car (when it was still fairly cheap), and small grocery store visits, etc. But I soon learned to carry enough cash, and always have a few checks in my wallet in case ran short of cash and forgot the check book too. Now I dont even think about it. I just went back to Re: Credt Cards=Legalized Rackateering IMHO 1
Re: Credt Cards=Legalized Rackateering IMHO the same way I did things when I was younger and CCs were not used too much yet. .
