                    Andrew Twaits to join Betfair
Cricket Australia’s General Manager is Betfair’s first key Australian hire

Betfair’s push for an Australian licence has gained further momentum with the
announcement that Andrew Twaits, currently General Manager of Legal and Business
Affairs at Cricket Australia, will join the company in April.

Twaits, 33, joins the team at TSE International, the organisation which is pursuing
Betfair’s licence applications, to work alongside Edward Wray, Mark Davies, and Justin

In his 5½ years at Cricket Australia, Twaits established the in-house legal function at
the organisation and, amongst other things, had responsibility for the development of
the organisation’s digital and media rights strategies and various special projects.

Edward Wray, Betfair’s co-founder, and currently leading the company’s quest for a
licence in Australia, said, “I am delighted that Andrew will be joining us and his
appointment will strengthen our team considerably. His experience at Cricket Australia
and his in-depth knowledge of the regulatory and commercial landscape for the sporting
and wagering industries here in Australia will be tremendously valuable to us as we
progress towards obtaining our licence and forging long lasting and strong relationships
with sporting bodies in the country.”
