PARTNERING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION (APWA) AND THE ASOCIACION DE MUNICIPIOS DE MEXICO, A.C. (AMMAC)
The American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Asociacion de Municipios de Mexico, A.C. (AMMAC) seek through this agreement to establish a strong partnership between our respective organizations. Our common purpose is to enhance the quality of life by facilitating the exchange of ideas, information, technology and management practices among persons professionally involved in the delivery of public works infrastructure and services. APWA is an association of 25,000 public works professionals primarily from the United States and Canada, providing services from across the full spectrum of their professional needs. AMMAC is an association representing hundreds of municipalities in Mexico dedicated to improving the quality of life and public infrastructure, equipment and services through their members and public works professionals. We intend to fulfill this agreement by: • Working to identify ways to better serve our organizations and members through corroboration and exchange of information in education, training, technology and management practices. Fostering joint cooperation for the participation in future satellite videoconferences. Cooperating with one another in the translation of continuing education programs and assisting in locating funding sources to provide for the translation. Encouraging international pairing of cities/municipalities and member attendance and participation in each other's national conferences. Making available programs for professional development with the objective of having a recognizable certification program for public works professionals. Seeking opportunities, collaboration and partnership in the securing and implementation of grants consistent with the strategic goals and objectives of each organization. Exchanging complimentary booth space at each respective national conference.

It is understood that this partnering agreement is conceived to be a dynamic document meant to change but nevertheless perceived as a beginning point to bring our two organizations together.

AMMAC Partnership Agreement
It is agreed that each organization will set up an international liaison committee that will monitor and review the implementation of the agreement from time to time and recommend amendments to the governing bodies of the respective association as necessary and desired. It is also agreed that this partnering agreement will be instituted for a period of one year and will be reviewed by both associations on its anniversary.
