 The following is a list of available information from the Omak
High School Counseling Office. The Scholarship Book is readily
available for students to browse through. You may access hard
   copy applications in the counseling office or go directly to

Okanogan Valley Crafters Scholarship
        The Okanogan Valley Crafters will offer a $300 scholarship to be awarded to a
graduating senior who has been involved in the arts and or crafts and will be attending a
trade school, community college, or university the fall of 2010.

Omak Elks Lodge Local Scholarship
        Two $500 scholarships offered to high school seniors. Use the most valuable
student Scholarship application found on line @ www.elks.org.

Cecelia Somday Education Scholarship
   Open to any enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes with a minimum
3.0 grade point average in the past three terms of high school or college. Thirteen
scholarships available to be awarded in the amount is $1500 per year.

Helen Kinzel Memorial Scholarship (Career in Education)
      These scholarships, not to exceed $500 each, are offered to graduating high school
seniors, or former Helen Kinzel scholarship recipients to be used in the field of education
in a Washington state college or university. Preference will be given to students pursuing
classroom instruction careers.

Hamilton Youth Foundation Scholarship
   Open to high school graduates who have been, or are currently involved in agricultural
and /or natural resource activities, such as 4-H or FFA OR are interested in pursuing
educational studies I agriculture or natural resource-related fields. (Other areas of study
will also be considered) Award amount is $800.

Teachers Make a Difference Scholarship (North Central Educational Services District)
       One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to attend college in
preparation for becoming a teacher.

Nancy Duree Natural Resource Scholarship
        The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival will award $1500 to a student pursuing
higher education in natural resources (i.e. fisheries, forestry, wildlife, botany, geology,
soil sciences, watershed sciences, ecology, and environmental education/recreation).
Applicant must attain a minimum accumulative G.P.A. of 2.5.

    This $250 scholarship is offered to a graduating senior currently enrolled as a 4-H
member in Okanogan County.

Wenatchee Valley Medical Center Healthcare Scholarship
       Open to graduating seniors planning to pursue a healthcare related degree program
for the academic year following graduation. WVMC has long supported youth in our
communities. WVMC is looking for highly talented students who have demonstrated
superior academic merit, exemplary character, integrity, purposefulness and desire to
work in the medical field. The recipient will receive a $3000 award.

CTEAP Grants
        CTEAP provides supplemental grants to enrolled Colville Tribal members
attending a two or four year college or university. The maximum grant is $5000 for
undergraduate; $6400 senior and graduate students per academic year.

        Open to enrolled Colville Tribal Members in a post secondary liberal arts program

        Open to graduating seniors accepted for admission to one of the participating two-
year community colleges or technical institutes. See the last page of this packet for a list

Big Sun Athletic Scholarship
        All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in. The student
must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute. To obtain official rules

Abbott & Fenner Scholarship
         The A & F scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well
as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. The
scholarship award is in the amount of $1000. Please visit the following website for more

Robert J. Handy and WSSR-Foundation Scholarships
         These scholarships are open to high school seniors committed to entering the teaching
profession, (including classroom teacher, school counselor, school nurse, communication disorder
specialist, school physical therapists, school psychologist, reading specialist, librarian, etc).
There are 16 Robert J. Handy scholarships to be granted in the amount of $900 per year,
renewable for a total of four years if grades, citizenship, self-reliance, etc., are maintained at
acceptable levels. There are 8 WSSR-Foundation Scholarships to be granted in the amount of
$1500 each for one year only. To apply online, visit www.wssra.org. The username is student;

        This is a $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years) scholarship offer based on “student in

       For graduating seniors interested in attending International Air & Hospitality
Academy’s culinary arts, airline reservations & airport services, or hospitality

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program
       The Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards young
volunteers (ages 6-18) whose efforts have made a positive impact on their communities.
More than 200 regional winners will be awarded a $1000 scholarship. Please visit

US Bank Internet Scholarship Program
       US Bank will award up to thirty $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors
planning to attend accredited two or four year colleges full-time next fall. Scholarship
award recipients are selected through a random drawing process. Students can apply

The Paul R. Wineman Scholarship-2007
                There will be one award of $1000 and at least four awards of $250. The
   scholarships are available to any male student who will be attending the University of
     Washington beginning in the fall of 2010. All young men who will be attending the
 University of Washington this fall are strongly encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Elks National Foundation “Second Chances” Dorothy Yothers Memorial
Scholarship
        This $600 per quarter scholarship is open to any female over 25 years of age who
plans to pursue an eligible Vocational/Technical course in the state of Washington. High

        Wenatchee Apollo Club is offering a music scholarship to male students in high

Juniors!
Nordstrom Scholarship
       Open to high school juniors who have maintained an unweighted GPA of 2.7 or
above through their high school career, must demonstrate financial need, attend an
accredited four-year college or university in the US, currently reside and attend school in
the Washington/Alaska region, not have a conviction for any crime. Each $10,000
scholarship will be paid over four years in equal installments of $2,500. Students can

Project HOPE (Health Occupations Preparatory Experience)
        Project hope places students in internships at health care facilities within the
student’s local community. The internship will last between 4 and 6 weeks and is
approximately four hours per day. The student will rotate through several health care
departments. Students will be paid a weekly stipend to be distributed after the 3rd week
and 6th week of the program. Applications are available through the counseling office.
