Articulation Agreement Between State University of New York (SUNY) Canton And Jefferson Community College This articulation agreement is intended to facilitate the transfer of graduates from Jefferson Community College’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing to the Bachelor of Technology in Health Services Management: Health Services at SUNY Canton. The objectives, terms and conditions of this agreement are set forth as follows: OBJECTIVES 1. To attract qualified students to Jefferson Community College and SUNY Canton. To facilitate upward educational and career mobility in Nursing by increasing accessibility to baccalaureate education for qualified individuals. To provide students with advisement in academic and career planning throughout their program of study. To reduce unnecessary repetition of general education and curricular content by providing a seamless articulation opportunity. To facilitate communication, academic coordination between faculty, students, and administrators at each institution. 2. 3. 3. 4. ELIGIBILITY / ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1. Students must meet the academic requirements listed in the “Terms of Agreement”. Students must complete the admission process. 2. TERMS OF AGREEMENT 1. Current Jefferson Community College students that have completed the Nursing Program with an A.A.S. in Nursing will be accepted at SUNY Canton into the junior level of SUNY Canton’s Bachelor of Technology degree program in Health Services Management: Health Services (Curriculum Number 253). The students at Jefferson Community College must have a 2.0 G.P.A. to apply for the Bachelor of Technology Program. The students at Jefferson Community College must have passed the RN boards (NCLEX exam). In addition to the courses required for Jefferson Community College’s degree in Nursing, students must have completed the three following SUNY Canton courses or their equivalents: i) Accounting Principles I (ACCT 101) OR Principles of Accounting I (ACC 101) ii) Introduction to Information Technology (CITA 110) OR Introduction to Computing with Microcomputers (CIS 110) iii) Survey of Math (MATH 111) or Statistics (MATH 141) OR Elementary Statistics (MTH 144) 2. 3. 4. 5. Students will need to complete seven distinct General Education courses to graduate with a B.Tech. If either SUNY Canton or Jefferson Community College make changes to their programs, those changes will be communicated to the other college for review of this articulation agreement. 6.
