                                                    November 21st,
                                                    10:00 am-1:00 pm
Why: This is a wonderful opportunity to restore riparian forest buffers directly within the Loch
Raven Reservoir. On Nov.21st, GVC will be planting 120 trees on half of an acre to continue a
longer term restoration project on a total of 10 acres within the reservoir. More than 17,000 trees
have been planted in the Gunpowder Watershed by GVC volunteers since the early 1990’s and
we need your help to plant more! (Wear old clothes, boots, hat, gloves, and rain gear. Bring a
large shovel if can. Refreshments will be provided.)

Who: No Experience is necessary! We are looking for students and adult volunteers who care
about the Earth, our watershed, and the Chesapeake Bay! Come and join us, and make a
difference for future generations!

When: Volunteers please arrive by 9:45 am to register. We will start planting on Saturday,
Nov. 21st at 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.

Where: Take I-83 south to 695 East. From 695, take exit 27 –Dulaney Valley Rd. north. Follow
for about 3 miles and cross the Dulaney Valley Bridge at the reservoir. Bear right at the light just
after the bridge to stay on Dulaney Valley Rd. Go about 1/6 mile and pass the first road on right.
Go a short way further and you will see a Gunpowder Valley Conservancy Tree Planting sign on
the right side of the road. Turn right at the sign into the Skeet and Trap Range. Park along
driveway where other cars are parked. Walk back to main road and cross bridge to your left. We
are in open field just past the bridge.

Contact: To register, please contact Peggy Perry, Program Director of Education and
Restoration for Gunpowder Valley Conservancy at 410-668-0118 or little-owl@msn.com .
