Description
This layer represents the coastal construction control line (CCCL) and the coastal set-back line (CSBL) at a
1:24,000-scale as of January 1, 2000 in Bay County. This layer has line features.

The CCCL is a line of jurisdiction, defining the landward limit of the Florida Dept of Environmental Protection
(FDEP)’s authority to regulate coastal construction. Areas within 1500 ft of the surveyed CCCL require
professional design, per new Florida Building Code effective January 1, 2002.

For a polygon version of the CCCL, see cccl_area.shp.
For the 1-mile coastal wind-borne debris region, see wind_debris.

Source
In August-September of 2001, Bay County GIS retrieved a statewide CCCL layer from FDEP Office of
Beaches and Coastal Systems website (MyFlorida.com > Environment > Download > Beach & Coastal > About
Beaches & Coastal Data > GIS Data). The retrieved layer had line features based on surveys, studies, and
management evaluations of conditions along the coast on a 1:24,000 scale shoreline coverage. For more details,
see FDEP metadata at bottom. Bay County GIS staff projected and selected lines for Bay County.

This data is for general graphic-display purposes at 1:24,000 scale; this data does NOT replace an on-site
legal survey; this data is NOT to be used for legal or survey purposes. CCCL legal descriptions are filed at
the Bay County Courthouse. A book of CCCLs on aerials is available at Bay County Builders Services.

This data is provided with the understanding that the conclusions drawn from such information are solely
the responsibilities of the user. The GIS data is not a legal representation of the features depicted, and
any assumption of the legal status of this data is hereby disclaimed. Errors or omissions should be reported
to the Bay County GIS Division 850-784-6171.

The original data was contained within a hard copy document

tranformed to ERSI ARCVIEW shapefile in

Coastline. The Digital coverage was then checked by the

and correctness. HOWEVER, ITS APPARENT CORRECTNESS DOES NOT
CERTIFY OR VALIDATE IT FOR LEGAL OR SURVEY PURPOSES.
