HSBC AMANAH TAKAFUL APPOINTS NEW CEO
HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (HSBC Amanah Takaful) is pleased to
announce Mohammed Muqeem as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 2
Muqeem, first joined the HSBC Group in 2004 as a Senior Manager of Global
Takaful operations and has since been involved in developing HSBC’s Takaful
business globally. Now, in his capacity as CEO, he will direct the operations of the
HSBC Amanah Takaful business to maximize company growth and take on the
responsibility in developing innovative strategies to drive the insurance business of
HSBC in Malaysia to achieve business goals.
Muqeem’s career within the insurance industry began in 1969 when he joined a
leading insurance firm in India. He then worked his way up and moved over to the
Middle East in the early 1990s where he continued to expand his experience and
knowledge of the industry whilst working in senior positions in Saudi Arabia and
Dubai. Prior to joining HSBC, he was the Head of Family Takaful for an international
Takaful provider in Bahrain.
With 39 years of experience in the insurance industry, he will strive to increase the
market share of the HSBC Amanah Takaful by pioneering comprehensive financial
solutions for all and at the same time continue to leverage on the seamless relationship
with HSBC Bank Malaysia.
