State Government of Victoria The intention of these guidelines is to ensure that: Branding • All Government Web communications are clearly branded as coming from the State Government of Victoria, which is ultimately responsible for the actions of all it’s of Victorian Departments, Statutory Authorities and Agencies. Government • Government brand equity is maximised, and user confusion minimised through the use of one agency/program brand only, in addition to the Government Slogan Web sites (refer Victorian Government Branding Policy). All State Government of Victoria, (SGV) home pages, navigational pages, and major content pages and site entry points must carry a SGV identifier. Where possible, all other pages of agency web sites must carry the words ‘State Government of Victoria’ in their footers. The preferred identifier is The Place To Be Slogan (primary option). There is a landscape version (secondary option) of The Place To Be Slogan and should be used when it is not possible to effectively incorporate the primary option into the agency’s website design. The Insignia (‘State Government Victoria’) should be used only where use of the Slogan would be inappropriate. The identifier must link to the Victorian Government portal website http://www.vic.gov.au and all government internet sites must register with the www.vic.gov.au site for navigational purposes. RGB 0-51-102 is the closest web-safe equivalent to the PMS 541 official blue colour of the logo. The Slogan whenever possible should appear in this colour. Where an agency web site is a colour which would not blend with the Slogan colour, the Slogan can also appear: • in black • reversed (white out of a solid coloured background) • in the agency’s primary colour, sympathetic to the site’s overall design and should appear as a transparent Gif file Note: in using transparent gifs, the quality and integrity of the logos are to be maintained, hence the identifiers are not to appear on a patterned, photographic or textured web background. No identifier is to be unevenly scaled. Each identifier element (box, Southern Cross and text) forms part of the entire design and are always to be used as one united image. They cannot be split, re-sized or coloured individually. The maximum size being 90 x 65 pixels. Government The Place To Be Slogan (secondary option) must not appear smaller than 100 x 24 pixels. Web sites The maximum size being 150 x 37 pixels. The Insignia (‘State Government Victoria’) must not appear any smaller than 70 x 40 pixels. The maximum size being 90 x 51 pixels. The International Insignia (‘State Government Victoria Australia’) must not appear any smaller than 70 x 51 pixels. The maximum size being 90 x 66 pixels. Roll-Over Gif Two roll-over gifs of the Slogan are supplied as an option, but would generally only be suitable on a Home Page. Animated Gif An animated gif of the Slogan is supplied as an alternative, but should be used with discretion and consideration of its impact on page useability. The animated and roll-over gifs are not available in colours other than the blue and white supplied. Officers supplying Victorian Government brands to third parties, including other Government officers and contractors must ensure that the recipient has a copy of these guidelines and is aware of the Victorian Government Branding Policy and State Government Communications Manual. Armorial Ensign The Crest is generally not available for use on government agency web sites. Permission for its use must be sought from the Chief of Protocol, Department of Premier and Cabinet.
