Course Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or over to undertake the Level 3 Club Coach Course. It is
imperative that candidates are qualified, knowledgeable and competent at Level 2 Coach
before progressing to Level 3 Club Coach. It is strongly recommended that the Club Coach
should obtain a designated First Aid qualification.
Applicants must hold BG membership - application forms will be available for
completion at the beginning of the course.

Course Outcomes
The Club Coach may assume responsibility for the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics programme
within a club and may take the responsibility of a Women’s Artistic Club. The Club Coach may
direct other qualified coaches. The Level 3 Club Coach will be qualified to plan, implement,
analyse and revise annual coaching programmes. The Level 3 Coach may operate
independently and take responsibility for the coaching programme in the specific discipline.

   • Factors Influencing Learning
   • Anatomy and Physiology
   • Post-course experience
   • Examination preparation

Sports Specific Theory:
   • Age and stage of Maturation
   • Identification and development of talent
   • Biomechanics
   • Judging and routine construction
Practical Syllabus:
   • Physical Preparation
   • Safety and Spotting
   • Dance and choreography
   • Vaulting
   • Single Bar/Asymmetric Bars
   • Beam
   • Tumbling and Floor work
   • Dance elements for beam and floor
   • Rebound

Overview of the assessment criteria:
   • Analyse participants current and potential performance, needs and aspirations
   • Plan a coaching programme according to agreed goals
   • Manage a safe and effective coaching environment
   • Deliver programme goals using a range of coaching styles and methods
   • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of coaching programmes
   • Manage and develop personal coaching practice

Course Examination
You must, in order to gain the qualification:
   • Attend all the course hours
   • Successfully complete logbook and observed practical assessment
   • Successfully complete common core and sports specific theory papers

Course Duration
6 hours pre-course home study
35 hours course attendance of tutored learning.
36 hours Post Course study, mentored hours and log book completion.
12 hours exam preparation and final assessment.
Total: 89 Hours
