Adelaide is a city with the lot - festivals, fine food, arts, culture, shopping and sport.
Adelaide Carefully laid out by Sir William Light in the 19th Century, the city has wide spacious boulevards and
vibrant inner-city areas, a ring of beautiful gardens and an array of classic architecture distinctively
seen through the City’s North Terrace precinct, with the SA Museum, Art Gallery and libraries all
part of the city’s cultural heart. At the eastern side of North Terrace is Elder Hall and other University
buildings that now form part of the city’s burgeoning education industry.
The city’s retail strip is Rundle Mall with major fashion brands and boutique arcades, while the
Adelaide Central Market is a great place to sample some of South Australia’s finest produce.
The Adelaide Oval in the Northern parklands precinct is regarded as the prettiest cricket ground in
the world and home for champions such as Don Bradman and the Chappell brothers who captained
Australian cricket in the 1970’s and 80’s.
The South Australian metropolitan coast provides many spectacular beaches. The inner city beaches
of Glenelg, Henley and Grange provide spectacular safe swimming areas. You can hop on the tram
and head out to Glenelg Beach just twenty minutes from the City centre.
Adelaide, surrounded by some of the finest wine-growing districts in the world, is a unique blend of
things do and see.

of Australian colonial art in the nation. Aboriginal culture is part of the experience
of a visit to the South Australian Museum.

4. Haigh’s Chocolate’s Visitor Centre: Tours of the factory, with its heritage displays

5. Right in Port Adelaide’s historic heart, the South Australian Maritime Museum is
regarded as one of the best in the world. Exhibits include the tug Yelta and the
launch Archie Badenoch.
6. Glenelg was where settlers in Adelaide originally settled. Today it is a seaside
