CCNM BULLETIN BOARD AND POSTINGS PROCEDURES
CCNM’s bulletin boards provide an effective communications medium through which
students, committees, faculty, administration and our publics share current and relevant
Often, information posted on these boards remains long after its effective date; other
times, information is posted in areas other than the bulletin boards, resulting in a
cluttered, unprofessional environment.
These procedures, determined by a coalition including marketing and communications,
student services and the NSA, have been developed to:
provide consistent and clear guidelines for the use and maintenance of all bulletin
boards and public areas on campus;
ensure a clean and clutter-free environment on campus, and
encourage environmental integrity by reducing the use of paper flyers.
While flyers and posters provide valuable advertising exposure, please remember to
include electronic promotion in event planning strategies. By doing so, we may be able
to reduce paper use.
In order to better manage the information posted on our bulletin boards, CCNM has
instituted the following procedures:
1) Individuals or departments wishing to post a notice on a CCNM bulletin board will
go to either student services (for administrative or external postings) or NSA (for
student and club-initiated postings) to have the item stamped and expiry-dated.
At this time, the NSA or the student services department will review the material
to ensure it does not contravene CCNM’s Honour Code and Standards of
Conduct or compete with a CE or clinic program.
2) Material posted in areas other than bulletin boards, or posted on bulletin
boards but not stamped and expiry-dated by either the NSA or student
services, will be removed by maintenance staff. All bulletin boards will be
monitored regularly, and expired notices will be removed.
3) Postering in washrooms and on walls and doors is prohibited. Notices
posted in washrooms will be removed on a daily basis.
4) Clinic will be responsible for stamping its own bulletin board information (ref:
5) From time to time, and on a very restricted basis, requests received in writing
from the NSA or other groups wishing to post materials in areas outside the
confines of the bulletin boards may be entertained. Such situations will be
discussed and evaluated on an individual basis by the marketing and
