All those scholarships with a ►next to the description below are scholarships that we have in file in the Counseling Office. Please fill out a scholarship request form so that Mrs. Lake can make copies of the scholarship application. The Maryland Media, Inc. Scholarship for the University of MD at College Park
will be offering two scholarships to an outstanding high school journalists. The scholarship application, as well as complete information regarding these scholarships, may be downloaded from the Diamondback Newspaper’s web site. Go to the right-hand side of the page. The scholarships will be for in-state tuition per school year and will be given in two equal payments. The scholarship recipients will be required to work on one of the student publications in some capacity, which will be monitored by the selected publication’s editor in chief. The scholarships will be renewable each semester provided satisfactory progress has been completed in the classroom and on the publication and upon review by the scholarship committee.
Deadline: December 1, 2008 Howard Community College and The Child Care Career and Professional Development Fund. is offering a full tuition scholarship. You must be working part time or full time
with children in a registered or licensed child care facility in MD, and you must be participating in the MD Child Care Credential Program. You also must be accepted to Howard Community College. Also you will have to declare your major in one of the following degrees at HCC; Early Childhood Development AAS Degree; Early Childhood Education AA Degree; Early Childhood Education AAT Degree; Elementary Education AA Degree; Elementary Education Special Education AAT Degree. KFC Colonel’s Scholars is offering a graduating senior $5,000 per year for tuition, fees, books, and
room and board. To qualify a student must be: Maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, enrolling in a public, in-state college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree and a US citizen. Application is on line at www.kfcscholars.org and available from December 1, 2008 through February 10, 2009.
The National Commission for Cooperative Education, a non-profit organization dedicated to
advancing high quality, college-level cooperative education will be offering two hundred merit co-op scholarships of $6,000 each. Additional information about this year’s scholarship program and to complete an application on-line visit their website at www.co-op.edu.
