I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all those connected with BSHS cricket
for the forthcoming 2008 season. We look forward with confidence to a season of family
involvement, which will bring success both on and off the field.

Levy: The levy for the season is set at $90 per player. The levy is used to cover
the costs of balls, equipment, bus transport, trophies and the maintenance of nets
etc. All payments are made at the student counter in A Block by the third week of
fixtures. Cheques are made payable to BRISBANE STATE HIGH SCHOOL –
Cricket Sub Committee.
Credit card payments: can be made via a credit card payment form (see end of document)
or via the phone – 3291 4106 and speak to one of the finance officers in Administration.
Travel Uniform: All players are expected to travel to and from games either in their
school uniform or their cricket whites.
Playing Attire: White shirt pants. Generally the boys wear long pants however
shorts may be worn. A white hat (with school badge) or the school cricket cap
should be worn. These are available from the clothing shop. Club caps are not to
be worn. No hat no play!
Travel: Transport to all games in Brisbane is the responsibility of individual players,
however buses will be provided for the away games in Toowoomba, Ipswich and
Southport. Players are expected to travel by bus (unless a note has been provided
prior to the fixture). They may return by private transport if their coaches have been
contacted by the student’s parents.
Coaches: We are always in need of people to coach the teams. If you could help
out in this regard it would be appreciated very much. This can easily be arranged

players at all GPS fixtures. As such, any behaviour bringing discredit to the school
(poor language, sledging, disputing umpires’ decisions etc.) will be dealt with
severely.
Pockets: These are based primarily on performances during the season.
They will only be awarded if attendance at training is satisfactory and behaviour
during the game and travelling to and from games is of the highest standard. The
levy must have been paid.
Dinner: The Annual Presentation Dinner will be held on the 3rd April at the Easts
Rugby League Club, Main Avenue COOPAROO. Trophies for each team and each

are cancelled.
                Parents: We need your help!

We need you to encourage the ideals of BSHS Cricket.

You can support the coach by reinforcing your son’s commitment to the
team. This translates into ensuring that he attends training and turns up
on time to fixtures on Saturday. You should always let the coach know if
there are problems with meeting these requirements.

Training times will be provided for all students at the beginning of the cricket
season.

In addition to the fulfilment of training and playing commitments, we would
appreciate your encouragement in the correct wearing of the appropriate
uniform and the right attitude on the field.

We need people to help in the setting up of grounds, running the canteen
at Fursden Road, scoring and managing teams. Any help you can give in
this regard will be appreciated.

If you are in a position to assist please contact Mr Peter Hadgelias or Mr
Kerry Mahony.
