The Summerville Place Crime Watch Committee would like to thank Cpl. John O’Meara of the Summerville
Police Department for providing our neighborhood with extra patrol. Your service to our community is greatly
appreciated. We remind our residents to keep your vehicle doors locked both day and night. This will help
prevent theft and vandalism. Call 875-1650 to report suspicious people, vehicles, or activity in your area.

Neighbors, please remember to wear light colored clothing or reflective gear when walking, jogging, or bicycling
at night. You might be able to see an oncoming car; however, they may not be able to see you. Think safety
first!

We appreciate our neighbors who take time to pick up trash along their property and in their neck of the woods.
If we all do a little; we can do a lot!

Help is needed on our Restrictions Committee. For more information contact the HOA or e-mail the HOA
President at sppresident07@yahoo.com. This committee remains anonymous.

We have added a new sub-committee to our HOA. The Helping Hand Sub-Committee has been established to
help out our neighbors who are in need. This committee consists of volunteers who can help with basic lawn
care or simple outdoor maintenance for a resident who has been ill, has had a family member deployed, or
experienced a recent tragedy. Let us know if you are in need of assistance. Volunteers are needed to serve on
this committee. If you are interested in donating a little of your time for a good cause, contact the HOA.

There have been several concerns brought to the attention of the HOA regarding animals in the subdivision.
Dogs should be kept on a leash when outside of your property. Please be respectful of others in regards to
letting your animals onto other neighbor’s lawns. Not all neighbors appreciate this. Please remember to clean
up after your pets. Thank you for your cooperation.
Animal concerns can be reported to Animal Control at 832- 0015 or the S’ville PD at 851-4100.

Several concerns were brought to our attention regarding trash can violations. The covenants state; trash
containers should be kept in the garage or on the patio. (not visible from adjacent homes or street) Thanks!

                                           Spring Smiles Gardeners!

It’s such a beautiful time to call the South Carolina Low Country home. Everything is
blooming and getting green, including the weeds. The warmer days will take care of most of them.
Before buying a weed killer or a product that will weed and feed your lawn, first look at the label.
The ingredient “attrazine” will kill the weeds in your lawn, but be careful because it is a root –
absorbed chemical and may affect some of your desirable trees and shrubs via their root systems.
Wait until late April before applying fertilizer. Before you mow, sharpen your mower blade. Maybe
buy a spare blade to start the season right. After the first cutting, the sun will encourage new growth
and a greener lawn.
