                                2009-10 Security Deposit Refund Policy
      If you are cancelling your residence application and requesting a refund of your Residence Security
      Deposit, you must complete and submit the Residence Cancellation Form by registered mail with
      supporting documentation to Residence Services:

      The $500 security deposit is an advance payment and secures your space in residence. It is non-
      refundable prior to move-in, except as noted below:

      1.     If an applicant is not admitted to MacEwan, the applicant will be refunded $500 provided a
             Residence Cancellation Form is submitted to Residence Services by registered mail within 30
             days of the applicant receiving a letter of non-acceptance from their respective program. A copy of
             the letter of non-acceptance must be included with the cancellation form.

      2.     If an applicant cancels due to a substantiated medical reason preventing college attendance, the
             applicant will be refunded $500 provided a Residence Cancellation Form with proof of medical
             reason is sent by registered mail and is received by Residence Services before August 15, 2009.

      3.     If Residence Services receives a Residence Cancellation Form by registered mail:

            I. By June 30, 2009 the applicant will receive a $400 refund.
           II. After June 30, 2009 but before August 15, 2009 the applicant will receive a $200 refund.
           III. After August 15, 2009 there will be no refund of the $500 Security Deposit except as noted
              above.
           IV. After September 30th, 2009 there will be no refund of the $500 Security Deposit regardless of
              the circumstances and/or reasons.

      To receive the form via email, send the request to Residence Services at residence@macewan.ca.
      Please title the email ‘Form Request’ so it can be easily identified & prioritized for response.
