					Race Equality Scheme Action Plan 2007-2010

The following action plan provides an outline of what Chelmsford Borough Council aims to achieve in relation to race equality.

Our key priorities
  1. Improve our existing communication vehicles to ensure diverse audiences receive equal access to information and
      services
  2. Develop methods of engagement with diverse communities to ensure user and non-user involvement is integral to the
      development of services
  3. Identify and overcome barriers to accessing services or buildings to ensure excellent customer service for all our
      customers
  4. Undertake race equality impact assessments on all policies and procedures to continuously improve our services
      and meet our general and specific duties
  5. Promote equality of opportunity for existing and prospective staff by reviewing recruitment and retention procedures
