Online MBA Graduate 2008
What made you choose Benedictine University over the other schools you looked at?
Two things. One, Benedictine, from what I read and understood was a very good internationally
recognized business school. A lot of diversity here so I knew I would get a really rich online experience
with lots of different students from broad backgrounds. I know that things are becoming more global
and so I thought that would be, you know, a good way to learn. Benedictine really provided that.
The other thing I think the reason why I chose Benedictine is because of the location. It was within five
hours of driving distance. So, I was able to come to the campus a couple times a year if I wanted to and
buy books directly and talk to some folks that actually are on the online program but live in the area.
What was the advantage of taking an online course as opposed to taking a ground class?
You have to be careful when you do an online program because you have to be a student that wants to
put into it and expects a lot out of it because you’re not in a classroom and it’s not a traditional learning
experience. It’s not any easier than being in a classroom and you can get as much, if not more, from a
distance learning experience than you can in a classroom. But I think that the benefit to doing it online is
absolutely the convenience. I did class work from, you know, from the Florida, Keys; From Sandi Hippo,
California in my home late, late at night.
