RISE/MARC Business Card Templates Here are a few sample business cards. They consist of grouped text boxes and pictures. Choose the appropriate RISE or MARC card, and whether you want a picture. Making changes: You can make changes to the text while everything is still grouped. You can change it any way that you’d like. If you want to use a card with a photo, it’ll be a little more complicated-you must replace the little scientist guy with your own picture. Details below. To Change the Picture: If you want to use one of the cards that you can put your picture on you must ungroup. To do this, right click on the picture and choose “Grouping” then “Ungroup.” Then, click on and delete the current picture. Make a picture in photoshop or some photoediting program, that is 1 inch wide and 1.25 inches tall, keeping it high resolution (at least 230 dots per inch). Insert it into the Word document-doesn’t matter where. It will likely hop around the page to someplace strange. Click on the image. An image toolbar should appear, either floating or on one of the toolbars, above. Click on the Text Wrap icon. Select “In Front of Text.” Then drag your picture to where it needs to be, relative to the card, below. If you want to change its size a little, click on it, put the cursor over one of th corner “nodes”, click on it and drag it diagonally. Regroup by clicking on the new picture. Hold the shift key down, and also click on one of the other parts of the card. The rest of the card was already grouped, so you only need one click to put everything back together. Right click-Grouping, Group. Now the entire card will move together. Putting your card on the template: Download the blank business card, “GenericBusinessCardBlankPasteinto.doc” or a file of the same theme, but renamed something less silly. Have it open in Word. Come back here and right click on the card that you changed. If you have trouble getting it to click correctly, aim for a picture; it’ll select nicely. Edit/Copy your card. Go back to your blank. Paste multiple copies of your card. Move them around until they are in the correct place, within the little frame that is present. If you can’t see the frame, then go to Tools, Options, and make sure that Text Boundaries is selected. Hope that this works out well for you!
